1 yWomen are treated equally or better than men in many key ways (Using the U. S. as an example as that is the only country I care about):
Pay: This one is equal. The "gender pay gap" is a myth. According to the law, if a man and woman works the same amount of hours and the same position, pay is equal. Let's use Bob and Sue as an example. Both work 40 hours a week as cooks at McTurdburgers and McTurdburgers pays cooks $10 an hour in the same state and we will say they are both single with no kids. According to federal and state wage laws, they BOTH must be paid 40x$10. Gender doesn't matter. BOTH will make $400 each week. Any difference in take home pay will be determined by benefits and deductions CHOSEN by each person. If Sue works less than Bob, she will make less. Common sense. If she works more, she will make more. If she gets pregnant and needs time off, SHE chose to get pregnant. She will still have a job and whatever maternity benefits, but beyond that, if she is not at work, she doesn't get paid. Same if Bob had to quit work for surgery to replace his amputated leg. Not clocked in equals not get paid.
Courts/Dealings with Law Enforcement: Women are HEAVILY favored here. Bored with marriage? She will most like win child support, alimony AND half his crap. Nobody who lives in reality can dispute this. Domestic situation with no evidence other than he says she says? HE is going to jail/being removed, not her.
There are many others, but I do not have time to type them out.

1 yIt's extremely unlikely they ever will. Truth is the world was basically made by men for men. Up till surprisingly recent in overall history women still weren't even allowed to work or wear pants. Men also have the advantage of being physically way stronger than women, even teen boys often being much stronger than fully grown women. So if a psychopathic guy wanted to kill a woman he'd be able to do so very easily, even without a weapon.
And as for other things besides gender/sex such as race/skin color/ethnicity or sexuality or whatever, whatever the majority is for that certain country will always rule. People who aren't straight will never be equal as there's so few of them in comparison to straight people. In most European countries White people will undisputedly rule. In most African countries Black people will undisputedly rule. In most Asian countries Asian people will undisputedly rule. And if you are the minority race in any of those places, whatever race you are, you will never get the same treatment as the majority of the population.
All of this may sound bleak and cruel, and it is, but unfortunately it's just how the world works. The leaders since the beginning of time will NEVER be overthrown as a few years won't be able to undo the 300,000 years of culture or so that humans have been around for. I don't agree with it, but a lot of things in humanity just never changes, and history repeats itself a lot so even if progress is made it'll likely revert anyways.

Men are fools

@Eempriyanka In general I don't disagree with you. Though I believe that humans are fools in general, regardless of gender/sex. But yes, men in general are really ignorant about things that affect women but don't affect them.
Though even so, regardless if you believe men are especially stupid or not, there's a saying I've always heard: "Don't underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers. They can become extremely powerful."
1 yYeah, i wish men were allowed the space to explore their emotions without being made to feel less than for it... it would only help improve relationships i think. And bridge the gap between females and males.
And I wish females weren't assumed to be less competent than males in certain fields, some are but so are some men in reference to females. So let's all just let our capabilities show through before judgments and assumptions?
It would also be nice to just figure out this whole dating mess that this generation currently has on their hands... a mixture of role reversals, unclear roles or unclear expectations. All of it is creating a mess21 Reply
1 ywe should have equal rights, opportunities, and chances, but we are not the same...
men are different than women... even within the gender group, people vary...
so let's talk about enabling and empowering people, not genders...
we should have access to the same education, we should have an equal right to choose our dream occupation, we should be paid equally for the same job
but... if specific abilities or skills are needed, we should face the same tests...
there is a reason why women don't even try to apply to the British Army SAS unit... :D
we are equal as people, but we are not the same

Anonymous(30-35)1 yIn the US, men and women are still not treated equally. Not even close.
- In most states women can choose to legally opt out or parenthood while men cannot
- Men don't even have the right to know when they have a child
- Men get longer jail sentences for the same crimes
- The perception is stall that women are underpaid despite the fact that 92% of workplace deaths are men, and men also account for virtually ALL dirty and unpleasant jobs
- Four out of every five suicide victims are men. Can you even imagine how different things would be if those numbers were reversed?
- Women are allowed to, and even encouraged to express their emotions while men are shamed for doing the same
- The public schools system is set up for the success of girls and the failure of boys
- Despite all of the above, FEMINIsm is the only gender rights movement given any mainstream credibility. The male counterparts to modern feminists are called incels.

1 yEquality in 2025 is better than it has been in the past, but whether men and women are truly treated equally depends on the context. Legally, men and women have the same rights in most developed countries, but social and systemic inequalities still exist—sometimes favoring men, sometimes favoring women.
Right now, it seems that women receive more societal and institutional support, especially in education, workplace diversity initiatives, and legal protections. Meanwhile, men face disadvantages in areas like family courts, sentencing disparities in the legal system, and mental health awareness.
The real issue isn’t just about who has more or less—it’s about ensuring fairness and equal opportunity for everyone without creating new imbalances in the process. Do you think society is moving toward genuine equality, or has the pendulum swung too far in one direction?

Thats not what people mean when referring to equality. They are talking about civil rights fairness, not biological differences in gender, preferences, or capability.
Anonymous(18-24)1 yWhen over 50% of America has elected Trump and Vance as their representatives and believe that women shouldn't have the fundamental human right to bodily autonomy, and try to dictate what women may do bodies, I seriously doubt this is the case.
Just fyi, in case people don't know this, as of March 2025, 14 states have enacted near-total bans on abortion from the moment of conception, while Georgia has implemented a ban after six weeks of pregnancy, a point at which many women may not yet realize they are pregnant. You've also got lawmakers actively trying to find ways to restrict access to abortion pills/medication, by targeting providers prescribing abortion pills across state lines and imposing fines on them. Reading some of the comments about women in this site, makes you feel we're still living in the Middle Ages, drenched in hatred, prejudice and outdated stereotypes, not that men and women are equal in any way...

Just let men and women be different
And more importantly let people be more than just a gender. Let them be individuals10 Reply- 3.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
1 yMen and women have different needs so the only way to treat them equally is to treat them differently. If you were to treat them the same, you would be treating the two genders unequally, because their needs are divergent from each other and the value or failure of a treatment is determined by the needs of the individual you treat, not the distributor who addresses those needs.
00 Reply 3.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The depends relatively on what country you live in, but generally speaking, we will never be equal. We live in a world run by men who force their rules, morals, and values onto else. Do they know anything about what it is like being a woman, of course not?

Men tend to be labeled as predators more easily than women, men tend to be shunned if they show emotion like crying, and men are victims to conmen like Andrew Tate who feast on male insecurities.
There are just a few examples.

1 yI think so. But this is right. Men are not the same as women. Is a dog less valuable than a horse? I don't think so, the are of equal worth. But though I won't give them the same food but a sausage for the dog and nice grass with herbs for the horse.
Though men and women are of the same value it would be wrong to treat them equal.00 Reply 4.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. depend on the person truly some are full for equality and some other are more traditional so obviously men and women are never treated equally 100 % of the time but I think we reached quite a good proportion generally speaking

01 Reply- 1 y
@Babygirl_S, I appreciate you sharing your experience. Inequality can take many forms depending on the situation and location. What specific challenges have you faced in India that you would consider examples of inequality? Is it legal discrimination, workplace bias, safety concerns, or something else?
I ask because while India does have areas where women face disadvantages, it also has laws and policies that favor women in certain cases, such as family courts and workplace quotas. Understanding where you’re coming from could help bring clarity to the discussion.
Looking forward to hearing your perspective.
