People that voted for Trump, what do you think of Trump wanting to get rid of the Department of Education?, do you support that or not?

I would assume or imagine that there are a lot of people who voted for Trump who never thought that he would want to get rid of the Department of Education, or just oppose that. Or there are people who want to go to college or a trade school or institution and would be negatively impacted by this despite them having voted for Trump.

The results speak for themselves. Since the DoE was created, US academic performance has plummeted, and bureaucracy, waste, fraud, and corruption in academia has exploded. The DoE has been a complete and total failure by every important metric. They've made things far worse, not better.

There's very little government does well, and the bigger the government, the less well it tends to do. Education is much better handled at the state level as it was for the vast majority of this country's existence, and would be even better handled at the local level, where local needs could be better accommodated. A one-size-fits-all system, even a fantastic one, would never serve such a diverse population well, but what we got from the DoE was not fantastic, it was below abysmal.

One of the reasons I voted for Trump was specifically because he was going to end the DoE. I fully support that.

America has the highest per pupil expenditure by far. it also scores at the bottom for standardized tests. The Federal DOE is a total failure and should have been closed years ago. It has been just a front for the teachers union.
