Appearently Donald Trump is to sign some executing orders that micht be the first step to it.

I absolutely support abolishing the department of education. Why? Because it will devastate poor rural Red States most. Kentucky and Tennessee are already up in arms that what they voted for is actually happening. They are just now realizing that their school systems are going to lose all sorts of federal funding. And that means either their dirt poor states have to come up with the money or their kids are going to lose teaching staff, equipment, and special needs programs.

People in those states have already begun hammering their state legislators including Mitch McConnell in Kentucky. The response from state government has been to throw constituents out on the street and bar them from entering state government buildings using police. These authoritarian brains love police and POWER, right. Until it's used against them. I love it!!!

Maybe these incredibly stupid people are finally starting to understand how their votes are connected to outcomes for THEM. Next up they are going to find out the truth about tariffs and inflation and isolationist policy, for food, prescription drugs, energy, cars, electronics, and clothing.

Id like to know what they do for the $238 billion it costs... and why as a nation we are failing. that may not be the fault of DOE, but if ineffective, totally redo it.

Parts of it need to remain in tact, but some of it can go. E. g. probably still need grants to fund college... effectively subsidized college.

Yes. The federal government has too much control over the people. Most regulations should be left up to the individual states.

Yes, it is nothing but a front for the teachers union. America has rhe highest per pupil expenditure and the lowest test scores. We need different leadership and school choice.

America spends more than any other country per student for education. And for that money we get the lowest test scores in the world. How hard is it to understand the system isn't working? Get rid of this it's a total waste. Let the states handle it.
