More people are killed from the treatments for aids and cancer than people who die from aids and cancer. Also vaccines have caused 4xs more deaths of people I knew than being nonvaccinated has caused. Doge has probably has extended many times more lives than those it has shortened.
I have a suspicion that if these same things had been done by whatever candidate you voted for instead of Trump and Elon you would be seeing things in an entirely different manner and singing their praise and that how you are seeing things is being painted and perceived from a view skewed through a preconceived prejudiced hatred of the individuals in question. I consider the possibility that perhaps you are currently unable to keep separate your preconceptions from your perspective. If someone is always looking for an insult from others when they interact with others then even when no insult has been given or intended they will still perceive an insult where none actually exists anywhere else other than in their own mind. Set aside what you think you know about something and observe it as if you know nothing of where or who it comes from in order to see what it is as it is. Prejudiced perspectives are made from woefully incomplete information and understanding when cognitive dissonance is allowed to reign in a mind instead of unbiased reason and consideration of all observable consequential truths that resulted from the actions, and policies in question. It's just as possible this is true for me as it is for you if I have not taken this possibility into consideration already and had not done the necessary work internally to prevent such dissonance from reigning.

You know why this stuff happens? It's because the IRS's apps are poorly written, and lack measures to track accountability. You could have someone at the IRS randomly marking people as "dead", and instead of being able to know exactly who that was instantly, you have to investigate, because the database doesn't tie employee accounts to those changes. Why? Because the government can't get different departments on the same page.
I used to work for a bank/credit card company. They were audited routinely, and we could track changes near-instantly. Couple that with CCTV cameras, and we could verify that the person sitting at that station and logged in as UserX was in fact UserX. This kind of security was required.
But it's not required at the IRS, because no one has held them accountable for decades - not Democrats or Republicans. You know who is finally holding them accountable? TRUMP.
Trump has barely been in charge a month, but these kinds of problems go back decades. This story was only reported here because it aligns with the author's agenda, but the IRS themselves will tell you that these problems have been common for decades. The database is an absolute mess, and it's not a mess because of Trump - it was a mess under Clinton and W.
What's happening now is a long-needed cleanup. Yes, it may be messy for a little while and some mistakes will be made - that's inevitable. Change is hard. But the reason no one ever fixed it before is that no one was ever willing to do the work. That work is now being done - but we're still just at the beginning. The payoff will come later, and hopefully will last for decades.
The IRS has spent orders of magnitude more than it should have to get the software it needed, and still doesn't have it right. That's because of how inefficient and wasteful nearly all government programs are. And the answer to that isn't to just throw more taxpayer dollars at the problem - that will just mean more grift and corruption. The answer is to hold people accountable - and that's what's happening now.
