Maybe you need to read a bit more about this topic. The Tariff does not kick until a threshold is reached. This threshold was negotiated by one D. Trump through the USMCA agreement. Its to protect Canadian dairy producers from subsided US producers.

I seem to remember American dairy farmers dumping thousands of gallons of milk down the drain because the tariffs Canada imposed were so high they would lose money. I was a little kid when it happened and I did not understand exactly what was going on but I remember it happening, This was in the 70s.

Those are the tariffs Trump negotiated in 2018. However, those tariffs only kick in if they exceed the allowed quota which the US has never done so dairy imported from the US to Canada has never had tariffs under the current trade deal.

The most consumed American made cheese which is coincidentally called American Cheese isn't even real cheese. McDonald's uses it on their cheese burgers it's a rather gross mixture of milk by products and solids, chemicals and artificial coloring, & salt. Not even cheeses from the US dairy capital Wisconsin begin to compare with good Canadian made cheese.
