None of these if they want to win. They need a dark horse candidate who is mostly unknown, has no significant ties to the Obama/Biden administrations, and can speak off the cuff in long form interviews while making a passable attempt at a party rebranding. This fundamentally goes against how that party operates however, because their primaries are rigged to ensure their chosen one will always win. If they're smart about it, they'll unveil this hypothetical wildcard around the midterms in order to build him or her up as an ascendant leader.

I believe the Democrats don't have a bench at the moment. They have no succession planning. They have no policy of moving on from people who are past their "sell by" date. They don't really have any household names with impressive track records. It's one of the things the DNC should be addressing along with a policy platform.

Currently Democrats have been wimps who are passive enablers for Right Wing Authoritarian morons. They act like it's still 1980 and they're battling a rational opponent with different intellectual approaches rather than bona fide fascists who just want to burn the government down.

I am as devoted a believer in a strong two party system as I am MAGA. The Democrats must endure an identity crisis before 28. They need to emerge center left. I contacted the DNC in 23 and 24 and suggested they groom a new face as a candidate and turn away from leftism. I told them they would lose their base and lose to DJT if they didn't.

I suggested former DHS chair Jeh Johnson. Black, moderate, no bad rep. He would have given Truman Democrats a real choice. If they want to defeat Vance or DeSantis, that kind of choice is what they need.

I am not familiar with Andy, but out of the rest of those choices Shapiro is the only one that would not be the end of the DNC. Had they gone with him as the VP, the election would have been a lot closer if not a Harris win. Fetterman would be a good choice for them as well; as he would represent the disabled community and the DNC loved identity politics. Plus he takes on his own party's BS and that would garner him more conservative supporters. Otherwise they should go with one of their younger members; AOC probably has too much baggage by now, but Crockett is fairly new member that is in Texas. So she might be able to flip the state blue.

Silly question since the Democrats have a long history of rigging nominations. Former DNC chair Donna Brazille admitted that the DNC took a bribe from Hillary to make sure she was nominated instead of allowing the normal process to unfold. Bernie also took a bribe not to make a big deal about getting robbed.
