Government prosecutors are seeking a dramatic breakup of the company that owns Facebook, asking for a judge to force Meta to spin off mobile apps Instagram and WhatsApp. Instagram's $32 billion US ad revenue in 2024 represented 48.4% of Meta's total revenue that year, according to Emarketer.

Google & Amazon are watching VERY CLOSELY as their anti-trust trials are also pending. It's not just search results and online shopping.

Between them Amazon & Google history at least 60% of the worlds data via cloud computing! They know what you will do before YOU do!

Trump has been getting advised that he should let the EU prosecute these antitrust cases that way they can take the blame and he can adopt the savior role.

Some advisors have also told him to extract concessions favorable to right-wing media in exchange for dropping the case.

He has also received advice that he should look to destroy monopolistic social media companies to create space for his Truth Social app.

Trump Administration has been cozying up to lobbyists like Google, Amazon, Meta, Apple, X, and more who each gave $1 million towards The Trump Transition which Tim Cook, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg were given front row seats to President Trump’s 2nd Inauguration in recent months.

Donald Trump’s Vice President JD Vance vowed not to enforce or endorse any legislation that includes regulations or restrictions onto the AI Industry and that The White House had their backs. I’d say that is highly suspect and showcases where this Administration’s priorities are.

I would like to say with the whole Tariff-thing, will negatively impact small businesses. Bananas, Coffee Beans, Cocoa, Spices, and more come from other areas so imagine a small business having to increase prices towards consumers of their local community, which puts them at a guaranteed risk of closing. Now imagine what that means for consumers at their local grocery store trying to buy Coffee Beans, Spices, Cocoa / Chocolate, Bananas, and more. This won’t affect Donald Trump’s lobbyists, it will affect his voters also non voters of him which again demonstrates this Administration’s priorities.

Stopping mergers and acquisitions is the best thing he did in his first term. He's the only president in my lifetime ( that I know of ) who actually tried to stop them. He rightfully said there are too many big companies.

The thing is, that if you want true competition domestically, you need protectionist policies internationally. You can't have both. If you want global competition, you end up with monopolistic companies domestically.

Next stop, Google. Break those mother fuckers up.

Trump needs to break them up. Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerburg have taken a less adversarial position towards President Trump and the MAGA movement but I would not trust them. Amazon is going to get a too large share of America's consumerism having an almost monopoly on everything we buy. Meta controls too much of the data transactions in the country. This makes then dangerous.

Probably yeah. But they did that with Standard Oil and broke it up into smaller companies because Rockerfella was too rich and powerful but he still owned the smaller companies and became even richer.
