In the modern West we have this adorable tendency to assume that everyone wants to be like us, and that everyone would be our friends, if they had the opportunity.

In our defense, we live in fantastically advanced and fruitful societies. How could anyone not want to be a part of something that generates so much prosperity?

@Agape93 I'm planning to go to Greece, this fall, and, of course tour Athens, and the Acropolis, and in that package tour with Globus, it includes a tour of the Greek Islands and then stops in Istanbul, before the trip back.

Two friends of mine at work recommended that I see Turkey also and I look forward to it.

This happens all over the place in the EU. FFS, The German PM had someone arrested for calling her fat, In the UK you can be imprisoned for making sexist remarks, and in France, a man can go to prison for validating the paternity of his children via DNA. As bad as the US has gotten, one thing we have over literally all other countries is freedom of speech.

One thing i can say im happy about is the fact that that the UK supreme court did something our supreme court hasn't had the stones to do yet, and that is to say you can only legally be a woman if you were born a biological woman.
