Is the idea of the nuclear family disappearing from society?

A nuclear family is a family unit consisting of two parents and their children, typically living together in one household. It's often seen as the basic unit of society and is distinguished from extended families or single-parent households.

The argument is men no longer want marriage, both women and men don't seem to want to raise kids or feel it's far too expensive to do so in this economy, having a single income household in which a mother stays in the home and the husband works seems far fetched financially these days, and women are far more educated and work more than previous generations with different life priorities along with their male counterparts who seemingly favor self goals over familial ones.

Is any of that true? Is the nuclear family a relic of the past? Can it be revived? How?

The nuclear family was the enemy of the feminist movement at it's inception. That movement was supported by the rich and powerful who wanted to get a cheaper larger more compliant and easier to exploit workforce so it supported the idea of "empowering" women to work for them by telling women it was oppressive and unvalued "free labour" they were providing for the real enemy MEN. They even gave THEMSELVES the name PATRIARCHY so as to reinforce feminists of the notion that MEN were advantaged over them and worked to KEEP THEM tied to the kitchen, bedroom, house and family.

They've won.
They got a larger, more compliant and generally easier to manipulate workforce (women tend to WANT to cooperate to while men will challenge authority) into accepting wage stagnation and diminishing benefits from labour making it cheaper for them to keep the productivity without raising work rewards. A single income cannot in most cases sustain a household in most capitalist societies especially if children are brought into the world. Nowhere was it ever considered that the household, home making role was important for HUMANITY or society so it was demeaned by PATRIARCHY (remember the rich and powerful) as unworthy and oppressive. They also made sure to subjugate men by forcing them to continue as they always had done as workers (no longer having the title or responsibility for being a BREADWINNER and pushed on to them the extra roles of taking over household duties AS WELL as worker role. Basically DO MORE for the same "reward" of income but having less of it and even lower status in society as worker instead of a breadwinner.

So the duping is coming to home to roost. People aren't interested in making the next generation and prefer to set unrealistic standards on what they EXPECT from others for lifestyles they feel entitled to. The belittling of each group as not good enough, too much aggro, weak, emotional, low value and basically just worthless has arisen and that's where we're at throats and bullshitting each other through endless hook up culture with zero thought for the impact this does to each other.

I'm just glad I got to experience things before it got all shit like it is now.

Yes, there is truth in all of that.

As multi-award winning feminist Linda Gordon famously said, "the nuclear family must be destroyed… Whatever its ultimate meaning, the break-up of families now is an objectively revolutionary process."

Feminism set out with the explicit goal to destroy the nuclear family, and they have been largely successful at it. They accomplished it by convincing women that fathers are not necessary, and female promiscuity is a virtue...

And yes, men are turning their backs on marriage and fatherhood, because half of marriages end in divorce, women file 80% of them, and men get screwed in divorce court and child custody settlements. And the men who do choose to get married despite those facts enjoy fewer marital benefits than men of the past. And unlike the past, when sex was a big motivator for men to get married, today casual sex is the norm. No marriage required. On paper, men avoiding marriage is a no-brainer. But unfortunately for some men, they convince themselves they'll be one of the lucky ones. Unless women make serious changes, marriage will be a thing of the past in another generation or two.

Marriage is the core of the nuclear family, and the nuclear family is the backbone of society. I believe feminists knew that by destroying the nuclear family they would be destroying western society itself, and they were fine with that.

No. The ideas you present are hypotheses and they are likely formed on the basis of impressions you have from what you absorb from the MSM. But a factual inquiry would show you that while the percentage of children living in two parent households did decline significantly for several decades, that trend has stopped and started to reverse itself: two parent families are becoming more prevalent.

Well is it that much of a shock that when prices in groceries increase, housing market is trash, and the American public are forced to live paycheck to paycheck, less people have money to splurge, etc. that they would want to have children?

We live at such a bad time, that people don’t want to have kids and they are entitled to think so & feel so because yeah it sucks. A lot of women now who grew up with social media as teenagers, also face negative mental health struggles which I would say they are working on it before settling down since having children will only make those issues worse in my opinion.

Basically, women don’t have children until they are the best version of themselves. Good education therefore good job in their particular field, work on mental health struggles, save up for a house and extra for rent, and combining wealth with spouse / special someone then settling down to have a family. Sounds like common sense to me.

Based on the way you asked this question you really do not want to hear the truth. Yes, the nuclear family is dying. But it's not because men do not want marriage we just don't want it in it's current form. Women have equality now, but still not equal expectations. And even if you were to put it on them they would reject it. Because most women still view equality as buffet where they can choose what they like about equality but reject what they don't. Life just doesn't work that way is all.

The nuclear family can come back. But not till both genders start trusting eachother more. And that's not going to happen until 1. People start choosing partners better. And 2. Until people start giving g thier partners reason to trust them.

Me, I just like watching the 💩show that is today's humanity. But I do weep for the kids who have to grow up in this 💩. It's unfortunate.

When is the last time it was common in society? Were it's outcomes desirable? Was it good for anyone but men? I think think neither men nor women have any confidence in each other and with a median length of marriage of 8 years it is indeed impractical. It is till one of the couple is bored now.

It is a bad life choice for a man to marry and have children now. Are you luckier than most men you have to ask.
