Look, it’s all well and good to have a family, but the nuclear construct (so named for the nuclear energy sources discovered at around the same time) is a SINGULAR unit. No friends, no grandparents, it’s told to function completely and solely ALONE and that’s the biggest problem with it and why it doesn’t work. No one cares if someone decides to have 2 kids with their married spouse and have one stay at home while the other works, the problem is that it’s insanely isolating and draining as its design doesn’t allow for seeking support anywhere else, the breadwinner can’t find the energy to do anything but work, the homemaker is exhausting themselves caring for two children who require near-constant attention for the first 10 years of their lives, the children are relying on adults who lack the energy to do more than the bare minimum. It is absolutely outdated and disruptive to follow this formula.
I think a male and female relationship, living together as man and wife, is the best combination and way to bring up children.
Hopefully the relationship is a loving one giving security, and stability for the children.
The children then grow up seeing the parents roles, and working lives, will emulate them producing a better society.
The nuclear family is basically an idea that is only like 50 or so years old in USA and was always flawed. Saying something is "outdated" when it barely even existed in the first place is somewhat funny. It was put forward as "tradition" when in reality that is not how humans families was traditionally structured and arguably its also not as healthy as the more traditional extended family model.
Family isn’t defined by tradition or structure, it’s defined by care, loyalty, n presence..
Anything else is form without substance..
No. Not my world.
I am always encouraging others to create one before they regret it.
Absolutely not. The cultural drift away from family values is at the heart of an astonishing number of documented social problems today.
It’s the most fulfilling and functional lifestyle there is.
I kind of like the concept, there is something about it...
only losers think the nuclear family is outdated because they can't have one
God's design for the family is not outdated, so of course the nuclear family is not outdated.
No, but it is rather, if not rare, than much less common than previuosly.
I would be so lost without my family.
Nope. Its not outdated.
Wildly outdated.
Yes it is.
