1 yWell let's see...
Immediate Term - You can't build factories, hire and train a workforce, establish a supply chain, and establish a distribution network overnight. Think 2- 5 years.
Medium Term - The tRump economy is a shit show of uncontrolled chaos and plummeting market prices for stocks while banks are worrying about having sufficient cash reserves to deal with mounting bad debt. Let me translate that for you... bank failures. And the debt markets are reeling from a selloff that has the yield on the 10 year US treasury bill rising sharply. Credit card rates and mortgages and corporate debt are all pegged to the 10 year t-bill. What moron thinks that any sane CEO is gonna gamble on expensive new capacity that won't come on line for years in an environment of massive political and economic uncertainty?
Long Term - The 3rd world countries will remain impossible for US based manufacturing to compete with for a long time. Does any imbecile really think China, India, and Vietnam will not develop responses to protect their domestic industries? And the tRump administration will be neutered in the 2026 mid term elections then gone after the 2028 election. CEO's will wait out this latest Republican economic disaster. But by then we'll be an international pariah nation who has squandered all goodwill and trust of our current trading partners. The dollar will no longer be the international standard for denominating contracts. Our economic power will be diminished to the point China can and will step in to fill the void.

Mofo doesn't even understand that SERVICES make up 80% of GDP AND SERVICES ARE EASIER TO QUIT by whatever allies we have left AND THEY ARE INDEED FIRING American FIRMS! Law, medicine, fashion, engineering, advertising, education, accountancy, research, publishing, insurance, safety, architecture, etc.
The damage he is doing is INCALCULABLE AND PERMANENT. I'll never forgive you MAGAs!

yes but most service jobs are in the food industry or retail. They pay just above minimum wage. Most of these other jobs require at least a bachelors degree and not everyone can afford to go to college. There were many good jobs in manufacturing and President Trump is bringing them back.

1 yIt takes some planning. Right now businesses can't plan because they don't know how or if tariffs will be implemented. Once they see an actual plan that will stick then they can plan a factory. But indications show a slowing economy. It was just announced this morning that consumer confidence fell as well as job openings. So there's no rush to build right now. By the time land is acquired and factory can be built and up and running, 3-5 years have passed and the executive orders for the tariffs could be rescinded. Or it could be rescinded in 6 months, who knows. It's become unpredictable. Companies will announce they're building a factory to get an exemption if it makes business sense but most of that is phoney. Even though Trump said GM is going to build a factory, GM responded by announcing they aren't doing anything until they get clarity.
10 Reply 26.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. This guy works for Nintendo and has a big interest in staying in China. The truth is if he was faced with either moving to the US or else closing the doors they would be setting up a factory in Arizona someplace so fast it would make your head spin. Auto manufacturers and others are already constructing plants a month after Trump announced tariffs. Nintendo is making tons of money on the backs of slave labor. They just do not want to pay a living wage to their employees.

Can you point to ONE permitted factory that is actively under construction FOR ANY PRODUCT since 1/20/25?

@DrPepper12 Honda is building one. there is a chipmakert that has broken ground as well.

They. Can't.

i would assume that's right. they can't make it efficient even with locally sourced labor.

if made in USA
240 Reply- 1 y
people will not buy it at that price point. Apple will have to figure out a way to use technology to automate the manufacturing process/
When the iPhone was first developed it has a plastic screen. Steve Jobs thought it looked cheap and he wanted a glass screen. He went to Corning Glass in upstate NY and they were going to build a facility to make phone screens using some kind of laser manufacturing process. Apple found it would be cheaper to buy a box of glass cutters and have the slave labor in China cut them by hand. They just bought big sheets of glass from Corning ans hed them cut overseas. - 1 y
@exitseven by assembling where labor is cheap. You’re getting the supply chain now!
- 1 y
@exitseven paying citizens 30 cents an hour? Or would the product have to be more expensive?
- 1 y
Using modern manufacturing processes instead of slave labor will yield a better product it a better pricepoint. This company took a low tech product and gave it a high tech makeover. Everything is 100%made in USA of MADE in USA components.
https://www.weathertech.com/ - 1 y
@exitseven it don't know what thia link is. I assume a "made in America company" are you sure all the parts going into their products aren't made in China? Even simple screws are shipped from china.
- 1 y
when they first opened they had to get raw material made in Europe. Now they get the locally sourced.
President Trump is not only changing how Americans will do business but he is recalibrating the global economy in the USA's favor.
In April the US collected 17 billion dollars in tariffs. Despite the fake news screaming that prices will skyrocket, inflation went down for the 4th month in a row. The stock market is recovering and the jobs numbers are strong.
All these are positive signs that what President Trump is trying to do is working. It took 30yhears toget intothis mess snd it will take more than 3 months to fix it. - 1 y
@exitseven I’m not sure where this fantasy comes from. Factories ain’t coming back if companies can pay cents to dollars.
- 1 y
@OddBeMe Hillery said the same thing and President Trump created thousands of manufacturing jobs in his first term. He only had tariffs of steel an aluminum but if he did not do that the last few steel mills would not be here anymore. He is blowing up the old system of sending our jobs overseas and having things made here. There are many companies investing trillions of dollars to build facilities in the US. This will create many construction jobs and then good paying manufacturing jobs.
In the state where I live manufacturers have been chased out of the state by excessive regulations and high taxes. The only businesses that are left are cannabis dispensaries and casinos. - 1 y
@exitseven politicians always promise this and a few factories are always built with heavy tax benefits and incentives for PR,
Why? Because 48% of Americans don’t have more than a high school education. - 1 y
@exitseven “Starting on day one, we will end inflation and make America affordable again, to bring down the prices
- 1 y
@exitseven yeah he's doing great
- 1 y
@OddBeMe he is doing great. The border is closed. Inflation is going down, foreign countries are lining up to get a trade deal, and the tax bill is working it's way through congress. When regulations are cut and taxes are lowered it will create a pro business environment tht will help all Americans.
- 1 y
@exitseven you think a 3000 mile border is closed? Are you that stupid?
And inflation skyrocketed because of trumps idiocy. Which he stopped. Now he gets credit? Lol - 1 y
The illegals alien crossings are at the lowest in forever. Trump did not even have to finish the wall. He reinstated wait in Mexico and Border patrol is now allowed to arrest them. This sends a message to the world that they are not welcome here and do not even bother to come.
In two weeks Trump did what Joe Biden could not do and it did not take an act of congress.
Big win for Americans. - 1 y
@exitseven you can understand how immigrants…. even illegals, follow good economies right?
- 1 y
@exitseven no one promised free everything. How wojld that happen? Ads in Immigrant Weekly?
Immigrants go to healthy countries. Boom. That's it. - 1 y
@exitseven no they dont. Charity might provide temp provisions. But imagine traveling by foot with your family to another country
- 1 y
There are dozens of hotels where the government has leased to hose illegal aliens. There are 750 living in the next town. They get 3 culturally appropriate meals a day, free laundry service, free healthcare. A van pulls up to the hotel with doctors. Same with legal counsel and dental, care. The local school system has to not only accept them but to hire bi-lingual teachers.
- 1 y
@exitseven please link evidence of that.
- 1 y
This is 4 miles from my house. There is two of them that the state leases and they keep 750 freeloaders there. This has gone on for at least 3 years.
nypost.com/.../ - 1 y
@exitseven what has gone on? Rape? Yes by all races. By men. I meant govt funded bullshit.
- 1 y
Yes it was rape in one of the state run hotels that are housing 750 illegal aliens. They also have a contract with a caterer to provide 3 meals a day. A van with doctors visit these hotels on a rotating basis. There are dozens of hotels just like this all over the state. There is also free legal services and free dental care. The town had to accept over a hundred students into the already overtaxed school system and had to hire bi lingual teachers. The local emergency room is a zoo and the cops are always there. There has been several armed robberies in the areas, one in a restaurant that is right across the street.
- 1 y
@exitseven oh the Rockland hotel housing 7 migrant families. Man, its an invasion.

@exitseven following a 1983 law. guess who controlled New York senate in 1983?

We have a democtst governor who declares the staet is a sanctuary state. In 2022 we had an election where there was a real Trump guy running against her. He lost of course because this state is a lost cause but if he had won for sure we would not be having any of these problems and would not be facing the cutting of federal funds to the state.
- 1 y
@exitseven and? You’re embarsssing yourself over 7 migrant families housed in a hotel.

I can easily list over 100 new factory project in the USA just since Trump was elected. In general I'm seeing like 25-50 new factories being announced or opened in America every month now that Trump is in office.
- 1 y
The funny thing is, that Trump started the ball rolling on this in his first term. Due to you guys rigging the 2020 election, now he gets to also take credit for it during his second term being that larger factories take years to be built.
- 1 y
During Biden's show as the Resident we saw like maybe 5 factories announced per month and they were very small projects.
- 1 y
Trump is performing at least 5-10 times as well as the Democrats performed. It's clear as day.
- 1 y
You're the one with fetal alcohol syndrome. I'm just the guy that can back up my claims.

Another conspiracy theorist of the last election being rigged. You believe everything that moron tells you. I bet you’d suck his dick while waving the confederate flag and supporting kkk. God you’re a righty idiot. Down with maga! Total scum. And rest of the world hates Trump. U just can’t face it. So go enjoy your trailer
- 1 y
@blackeagle007 The Confederates were Democrats. The KKK were/are Democrats. The gay LGBTQ+ dick suckers are Democrats. So clearly we know what you are, a self loathing racist homosexual Democrat that likes to project his self hatred onto other people as a coping mechanism for your crippled emotional state as you wallow in your own helplessness.
- 1 y
Why do you keep assuming I’m democrate? Is it automatically assumed I’m democrate because I’m against Trump? After all you maga morons know everything. I’m independent you lame brain. Find out who someone is instead of making ignorant guesses. And you hate gays which makes you an ignorant person. Very hateful. Fuck off asshat
- 1 y
@blackeagle007 There you go projecting again. You sure sound like a loser to me. Get your life in order. We'll stay winning.

I would LOVE to see this list of "over 100 new factory projects" that are ACTIVELY UNDER CONSTRUCTION that began after say... April fools in honor of MAGAs. Post the link.
- 1 y
@DrPepper12 Apparently you don't know when elections occur in the USA. You should go research that before you speak again.
They will but it won't happen overnight.
