Because he keeps flip flopping on what he's going to do on tariffs. It's on and then he changes his mind and takes them off a few days later. Business can't plan ahead when there's this much chaos and no clear plan laid out on what the tariffs are going to be. Nobody knows if he's just trying to negotiate or if he actually wants these high tariffs so businesses don't know what their costs are going to be when the 90 day pause is over. That's why money is leaving the US and going into foreign markets where there's more stability.

Tariffs were discarded in the 19th century as a way to stimulate domestic growth. Of course one would need to know how to read to know that so that eliminates DT

They can no longer have their stuff made in China where there is cheap labor. This really cuts into the multi million dollar salaries that they are getting. Now to compete with American products they either have to absorb the tariffs or else have their products built in the US.

@OldBlu I ran a small business for many years. Everything that I sold there was made in America. The only things that came from overseas was a specific sweater that was made in England and there were some insignia that were only made in Pakistan.
The quality was much better and my customers were mostly first responders that were very pro America.

@OldBlu This company get it. They have taken a low tech product and gave it a high tech makeover and created a product 100% Made in America. It did not take tariffs to make them do it either. The company had been around for over 20 years.

While being labeled a CEO is no guarantee you're not an idiot, these people at least seem to be smart enough to understand that their operating costs just got artificially hiked at a time when consumers are extremely financially stressed. They can put 2 + 2 together and see that it adds up to lower sales and profits in a Capitalist system that punishes CEO's for declining EPS.
