I noticed that there are a lot of giddy people on gag today, in lieu of the Supreme Court decision on SOME OF TRUMP'S tariffs.

Do the American tariff haters like when China imposes 125% tariff on American products?

Do the tariff haters hate or like when India puts $150% tariff on American whiskey?
Or is it all about hating Trump?

All the people with TDS won't like anything he does. They have no clue what the tariffs are all about, and how much it affects them ( like almost no affect at all on prices ).

Tariffs are actually a Democrat tool, and Trump still has a lot of Democrat in him. The reason conservatives have started to embrace tariffs instead of open markets, is because the policy of open markets has always been one sided. The large majority of countries have higher tariffs than the US, some are much higher. Some countries have outright closed markets.

You can use higher tariffs to negotiate lower tariffs in other countries, thereby using tariffs to create more equally open markets. As soon as the tariffs were implemented, some countries immediately offered to open their own markets. Some even offered 0% tariffs. It's working as intended.

What Trump has been doing with the tariffs is exactly what many Democrats have been begging for for decades.

China for years has stopped any use company trading in china with tariffs, intellectual property theft and state subsidies to allow Chinese companies to under cut foreign companies. The Chinese for instance would love to destroy the US car industry in America by exporting cheaper cars and then once gone thry could charge whatever they want and influence US Policy

We live in a world trade economy no one is self sufficient anymore. It’s a pipe dream.


China imposes ridiculous tariffs but it also strips away tons of freedom and commodities from its people not to mention the slave labor wages they put up with
China is the WORST example on what anyone should do with their government.
It’s inhumane.


And tariff haters are just people who don’t want to pay 5x more for every day commodities out of some misguided sense of patriotism.
Economy is a machine. No matter where items come from, if they’re being sold to you your country is profiting from it.
Just because it says “made in xx” doesn’t mean you’re betraying your country by buying it

Tariffs have shown over the course of history to be ineffective. It is nothing more than a tax and it ruins economies. The only effective use of tariffs are targeted ones specific to one or two products to prevent dumping. Some countries like Canada use quota based tariffs to prevent dumping.

Most USA citizens have no clue how disliked America is globally. For example up here in Canada polls indicate most Canadians think the USA is a bigger threat to world peace than Russia. Thats just one small example. But I am certain you probably do not care what other nations think... so enjoy your isolation.
