When you make things about your pride, your ego, your domination it clouds the judgement of “open minded”.
Like imagine if you couldn’t take being wrong or outperformed by a woman, couldn’t accept when you are wrong, believe you are the smartest in the room, and can’t show weakness for anything / ‘if you never admit you’re wrong, you’re never wrong’ then that is “closed minded”. That would reduce you from course correcting, fact checking, doing research then backing it up even when the results aren’t what you wanted / boasted about.
People make mistakes and should learn from them, not be clouded by ego.
I thought it read, "not blinded by gag" for a moment
Sure. Ego. But also hard work. Not really an American trait.
