“Love is wise, hatred is foolish.” Thoughts?

Bertrand Russell was a British philosopher who had a knack for pointing out many of humanities flaws. In one video he says the best moral advice he can give future generations is “Love is wise, hatred is foolish. In this world which is getting more and more closely interconnected, we have to learn to tolerate each other. We have to learn that some people say things we don’t like. We can only live together in that way, if we are to live together and not die together, we must learn the kind of charity and the kind of tolerance that is absolutely vital for the continuation of human life on this planet.” I think he is absolutely spot on. It’s very clear that on this site there’s a lot of hatred politically from both sides. Both sides will vehemently deny this, but just go through any political post and you’ll see a lot of hatred from people. What are your thoughts?

If you want to stamp out political hatred, then you have to stamp out political questions being asked completely. because he might have been a learned and wise man, but I doubt he would have held those views STILL, had his daughter been murdered in a terrorist attack for example!

Unconditional love is the dumbest thing a man can have for a woman; hatred is absolutely logical. To invert this is to ignore reality and experience.

For sure! Choosing to love family, friends, and romantic partners is wise and will get you a lot more than being resentful of family who thinks differently from you.
