The federal government does not finance Fox News, CNN, ABC MSNBC, CBS and NBC. With news and information available everywhere on the Internet, we do not need NPR/CPB. It simply as unnecessary kerosene headlights on cars. Whatever they provide, it is available elsewhere without taxpayer subsidy.

Tell that to rural USA American who rely on OVER THE AIR BROADCAST n can't afford satellite & cables not an option. That local public station is the emergency broadcast & only source of local news. too.

Sesame Street alone has made more money than the 3 commercial networks combined. 60 years of taxpayer funding has been poured into PBS, but not one penny of the billions of dollars of profit generated by Sesame Street and its merchandising ever goes back to the taxpayers, or even back into the program, it goes straight into the pockets of the show's owners.

Antiques Road Show is another one, huge profits from a show paid for by taxes, none of it reimbursed.

This is the kind of corruption that has to stop.
