This only applies to people who are medically capable of doing it. Those who are not will not have this requirement and will continue to receive the help they need without doing this.

Why are Democrats trying to make this sound like it is a cruel act by President Trump?

It's just the opposite. Study after study shows that work is good for people and leads to a much more fulfilled and successful future not only economically but mentally and physically as well.

The real question is why do Democrats fight so viciously to keep people dependent on them? They obviously don't care about these people they only care about keeping them dependent on them so they can force them to cast their votes for Democrats who buy their votes with our tax money and keep them in chains their whole life.

These people DO need our help. They need our help to get to work and finally stop being slaves on the Democrats' plantation.

There may not be employers who will hire all of these people because many of them have no work experience or skills. So instead of just saying that they should not do anything, they will be able to do volunteer work until they can find a paying job. The preferable kind of volunteer work would be some public service like cleaning parks and other low skilled work that can save money for the taxpayers. But unfortunately, the unions will fight that. I don't know which is worse the welfare leeches or the unions.

I'd much rather get a job. No, it's not wrong but, where I am, it's really hard to GET TO a job unless I wanna work in a smelly bar that allows smokers. Voice acting jobs don't come along that easily.

That's why doing volunteer work is an option. A lot of people on welfare are lifers and they don't have any job experience or skills. So yes it may be hard for many of them to find a job. So they have an option of doing that or doing volunteer work. But I'm sure they realize it would be a lot better to be paid for their time.

Not sure what you mean by voice acting jobs but an important point is that if a person can't get a job that they want, then it's their responsibility to take whatever job they can get before they start taking money from other people.

But I'm still stuck because I can't get out of here easily enough to volunteer, either. It's nice to have the extra money from the SSI checks and such but, I'd rather work so, for me, it's not exactly a kind of threat, except that it's gonna be hard for me to GET a job.

HOW could I get a job if it's so hard to get the hell out of here? I have 1 bus from here and it's NOT reliable to get me to a job on time. I don't drive or have a license. I have a car but, I need money to pay for gas, new tires, an oil change, driving lessons, insurance, etc.. At the moment, just about all I CAN do is voice acting! Or writing. If I can get all my gear up here, I can possibly start recording and maybe make a hit record or two.

Well. It's a difficult situation that I can't really analyze because I don't know enough about it. I'm sure that those who can demonstrate that it is not possible for them to do what is required will get a waiver. For example a single mother with multiple children, no working experience, a poor education and no job skills is unlikely to be able to find a job and unlikely to be able to pay for care for her children while she is at either a job or volunteering. That is unless unless she works from home on either a computer or phone.

There are jobs available where you can do that.

So they will likely be exemptions, although they may require an application in order to receive one.

We don't know what the final program will actually look like but we do know that they're not going to cut off people who genuinely have no feasible way to work.

I'm up on top of a fairly steep hill The bus runs 3 blocks from here about half way down the hill. It runs once every 50:00 or so, IF it runs at all!! Plenty of times, I've already gone down there to catch it and had to sit there waiting at least 50:00 for it to show up and that's after I got to the stop at least 10:00 before it was due!! I'm not at all thrilled with having to hump that very steep hill to get back up here every time the bus refuses to show up! And, it stops running at 10:00 or so, so, if I DO manage to get a job, there's no way I can work past 9:30 downtown. If I'm working in another part of town where I have to catch another bus to meet my bus, I'll have to leave work by at least 8:45.
Now, had my greedy, asshole had sisters left me the fuck alone where I was at my parents' house, as was mom's wish for me when she died in `16, I'd have very easy access to 3 buses where I could catch one every 10 or 20 minutes and they'd stop running after 1:00 a. m.!! I'd have almost no trouble finding a job! I'd also be on level ground, about a 15:00 walk from the nearest mall, jobs aplenty and very easy access to the grocery stores!!

Not at the moment. Especially since my asshole greedy cousins are trying to take THIS house away from me as is the bank thanks to my stupid aunt who blew well over $11,000,000 on scammers and now I'M STUCK paying back the mortgage she took out 3 weeks before she died to give the scammers MORE money!!
Where I used to live is at least twice as expensive as where I am, now.

I would say, leave the system as is except for those that refuse to work and ONLY collect welfare as a "job" because they don't HAVE to work! Make them show proof that they are at least TRYING to find a job!!

I'm not at all lazy! Any physical job that I've ever had, I busted ass and, quite often, the others who were SUPPOSED to be working with me just sat around laughing at ME for working so hard!! My philosophy is: if I'm at a job, I'M GONNA WORK!! I HATE sitting around doing nothing and have MUCH better things to do at home so, NO WAY am I gonna bust my ass to get up early to go to a job where I just sit around with my thumbs up my as all day!! Either put me to work or let me go home to get my own shit done!!
