Some people say the only reason Asians are successful in society is that their parents put more pressure on them to succeed. Thoughts?

I think it has to do with the emphasis on modesty and humility in East Asian societies, where respect is more valuable than audacity or boldness. In western countries, people value courage, confidence, and extroversion more than meekness and humility.

I believe you're right, Asian people are very modest and respectful.

Although, some of my Asian friends told me that their parents did put some kind of pressure on them - to learn more, when they were in school.

I think it is their work ethic. They are brought up to study hard and to work hard and save money. Americans have different culture that believes in doing everything on a large scale.

It is complex to say actually, They grow up with wound.

Those successful people are modesty but people who are fail always as same as American trump think their countries are great. They think that because of those successful people instead of nothing as Trump loser to control successful people.

Apple should be against Trump with courage.

From what I saw from Asian girlfriends I had when I was younger, familial pressure and not wanting to embarrass the family are factors, but so is desire for a better financial status. Jewish families used to be like this as well, so it was pretty familiar to me.

That and not bringing shame to your family. My wife is Asian and she is a lot more grateful for things and I believe that being grateful is essential to being successful.

Probably but I doubt that's the only reason, patience and a high IQ probably plays a part as well. Although Indians do better still with a low IQ.
