Oppose for many reasons. First of all, protesting doesn't accomplish a damn thing. I used to go to large protests in DC and other places. Politicians completely ignore that stuff.

I've hung around the organizers of protests. I've also known some of the instigators. Those instigators are assholes. They DO NOT care about the "cause". They are in it for the fight. They thrive on raising hell and stirring up trouble. They are totally using people. They intentionally stir up hatred and don't give a shit about any of those people at the protests. They want nothing more than a full scale riot and destruction. That is their job. It's what they get paid for.

These particular protests are people who for some reason think the law should not be enforced. In some cases the law is bullshit and it's a civic duty to break the law. But the immigration laws are perfectly legit and have a VERY good reason for existing. EVERY country in the world has laws restricting immigration. The US has some of the loosest immigration laws in the world.

Every country in the world enforces those laws. But when the US does it, some people think it's horrible.

I challenge everyone to name ONE president who did not deport illegal aliens.

I totally support peaceful protests. But I am strongly opposed to rioting, looting, vandalism and arson, you know, the things that modern liberals support and regularly engage in. People who do that should be treated  extremely  harshly - gunned down, if necessary.

Support the protests (though generally not any criminal acts taking place during the protests). Most are peaceful anyway, and are fully organized to be as such.

ICE is not operating with appropriate due process and deporting to foreign prisons without trial is beyond unconstitutional. If we can't protect the rights of the vulnerable subsets of our population, we can't protect the rights of anyone.

If we want to have a stricter immigration policy, then fine. I personally support path to citizenship - after all we're a nation built on immigration and for the purpose of refuge of the persecuted/unaccepted to begin with - but fine. But if we're going to do it, it needs to be done with respect, clear legality, and an acknowledgement of how individuals and communities are being affected by this policy. Compassion for those affected is absolutely vital.

But overall, ICE is operating in a way that is genuinely disturbing, so I support the protests.

Also, saying that people should protest just because there are a relative few who take advantage of the situation, cause chaos for the sake of chaos, etc is ridiculous. What are we supposed to do if not speak out?

A simple sit down silent peaceful protest would be more effective.

Rioters need to be deported. The organizations that fund them need to be dismantled on conspiracy charges and RICO charges.
