Mississippi tops the list of states with the worst healthcare outcomes.

The Magnolia State ranked worst in the nation for several outcome-related metrics, including:

Infant mortality rate (8.74 deaths per 1,000 live births).
Stroke mortality rate (54.80 deaths per 100,000 state residents).
Influenza and pneumonia mortality rate (22.57 deaths per 100,000 state residents).
Kidney disease mortality rate (21.80 deaths per 100,000 state residents).
Mississippi also ranked second worst for diabetes mortality rate (38.53 deaths per 100,000 state residents) and fifth worst for chronic lower respiratory disease mortality rate (58.40 deaths per 100,000 state residents).

Lowest number of physician assistants (0.40 per 10,00 state residents).
Second lowest number of critical care physicians (0.29 per 10,000 adults, tied with Arkansas).
Third highest percentage of hospital patients who did not receive written information about possible symptoms to look out for after discharge (15%).
Fifth highest percentage of residents who chose not to see a doctor in the past 12 months due to cost (13.10%).

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the states with the highest rates of teen pregnancy in 2020 were:

Mississippi: 26.4 births per 1,000 women aged 15-19
Arkansas: 24.6 births per 1,000 women aged 15-19
Louisiana: 23.7 births per 1,000 women aged 15-19
Kentucky: 21.8 births per 1,000 women aged 15-19

In 2023, Mississippi and Louisiana had the highest poverty rates in the US, with Mississippi at 18.9% and Louisiana at 18.0%. New Mexico (17.8%) also had a high poverty rate. Poverty rates in other states like West Virginia (15.6%), Arkansas (15.9%), Kentucky (15.8%), and Oklahoma (15.8%) were also significantly above the national average.

Also, is it me or many Republicans led states mostly the ones in the Deep South are grim and are third-world countries

I do not see states such as Utah among the worst states, but Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, and West Virginia are!!

Nope. It’s called liberty. They don’t want fascist democrats dictating to them how to live, or die. Republicans respect freedom and people who vote for them get exactly what they wanted.
Conversely, California has been under the exclusive control of democrats for decades and still hasn’t solved ANY of the problems that they claim are targets of the democrat platform. In fact, they lead the country in taxation AND many of the worst stats. Where does all that tax money go when California politicians and agencies aren’t keeping their promises to their constituents? 😂😂😂
It’s more than a little disingenuous to call it “failure” though. That word implies that they tried. Betrayal is a better word for it.

Yep, all those states with the highest poverty rates are all the bottom of the barrel in education too. They stay poor and keep voting Republican. That's why Republicans hate education. If these people realized no one's helping them, they'd vote Democrat instead of being the poorest state all the time.

Remember the outrage about how Trump failed to bring the egg prices down right when he got elected?

Ignored the reasons as to why those prices were up and then complain when it wasn't fixed right away. Then when it got fixed they just don't talk about it at all now.

My point is, this, is probably a lot like that. When it gets fixed nobody will will ask if the Republicans helped Mississippi and eventually the Dems will get back in there and fuck it up again.

It has to do more with the culture. In Maine people still smoke and there is a lot of obesity. The hospitals are good and there is access to Healthcare but people choose to live unhealthy lifestyles.
