Why do pageants still exist?

They still exist, because of tradition, money, and the platform (s) they offer, such as what the women get for winning. I get it, it's nice to feel loved and all that, however, isn't it still really demeaning. Trump is a former owner of one, and now he's the president, unfortunately.

Take away all the money that's poured into them, the rewards the girls get for winning, and the idea that it's a tradition, and what do you have. a show of essentially, prostitutes (without the sex), legal ones.

So, why do we still host them?

And for those who say "well, it's not all based on how she looks", well, if that were true, they wouldn't be made to dress in revealing clothing, almost the entire time. and the question they're asked wouldn't be "if you could have one thing in the world, what would it be", and every answer is "world peace".

Not only is it not attainable, it's a fucking cliche answer, and question. COME UP WITH SOMETHING NEW
