They still exist, because of tradition, money, and the platform (s) they offer, such as what the women get for winning. I get it, it's nice to feel loved and all that, however, isn't it still really demeaning. Trump is a former owner of one, and now he's the president, unfortunately.
Take away all the money that's poured into them, the rewards the girls get for winning, and the idea that it's a tradition, and what do you have. a show of essentially, prostitutes (without the sex), legal ones.
So, why do we still host them?
And for those who say "well, it's not all based on how she looks", well, if that were true, they wouldn't be made to dress in revealing clothing, almost the entire time. and the question they're asked wouldn't be "if you could have one thing in the world, what would it be", and every answer is "world peace".
Not only is it not attainable, it's a fucking cliche answer, and question. COME UP WITH SOMETHING NEW

The generate money and women have an intrest in them. I guess because every girl dreams of being a contestant or winner.
https://youtu.be/wmZLax8EDf4?si=6P_rEoibb6_f3jATBut take away the awards. Why would you want to do it, if there was no awards?
Staus, validation and vanity. Why do women want to be models or cheerleaders or famous in general? We want to be desired by men and seen as more beautiful than them by other women. Why if you want to sell a product of any kind do you have a beautiful woman advertising it, a feminist might argue because our society is so sexist but most products and advertising is aimed at women. It's probably a throwback from caveman times, women that men see as attractive will have no problems finding a strong mate and bear strong children.
If you look at beauty contestants as well, they are all highly educated, well spoken, in shape and have the option of high flying careers.
Take one of my husband’s exs. She is a doctor now, she won a few beauty contests, she was a model, she was a college athlete, she speaks 3 languages, school valedictorian, graduated in the top percentage of college, graduated medical school, won dance competitions, homecoming queen etc and is married with kids to a millionaire. I met her, she's a very beautiful intimidating woman. I had a bit of an inferiority complex in regard to her.
Why did he give her up
She was always very busy, said he barely saw her. Couldn't see a long term future with her.
Because they still generate money
