I think it depends on the pageant. If it's just a wholesome pageant where little girls gets to dress up in princess dresses, then it's mostly harmless, but when it comes to them coming out in swimsuits, that's where I draw the line. I don't get how people thaught it was a good idea to have underage girls show off their swimsuits, I mean you do realize that Playboy magazines had swimsuit editions, right, I mean pedo show.

Also it depends on the parents. Some of the length they will go to make sure their child wins.

It actually does depend on the pageant. My mom entered me into one when I was 5 but make up wasn't allowed and we only wore dresses. There was no fake tan, fake nails, make up, hair extensions or bikinis. Do I still agree with it... I'm not sure, luckily I was shy and would cry on stage so my mother pulled me out of it. As for beauty pageants with make up and nails and bikinis etc, that's just plain wrong when it comes to children.

Exactly, the one you went to is actually quite wholesome, just girls playing with nothing obscene.

    There is no "beauty" there.
It feels like it's just a buffet for pedophiles, considering the sexual and/or "grown-up's" clothing.

I saw a show once about this. That episode showed two young daughters who participated in those pageants, putted there by their mother who had been a model herself.
One of the children wasn't as pretty as her sister. So she felt less everyday. Her mother clearly loved her sister more. Her sister always had the spotlight. And you could feel from their faces that she was not half as happy as her sister was.
She will have issues as she grows up for sure! When she gets to teen years she will fuck the first guy who tells her "I think you are prettier than your sister"

Those pageants reduce a person value to her looks. To put a child under those conditions can be scaring! It takes some maturity to deal with it that children do not have! I don't think parents should expose their kids to that. More often than not they just want some fame through their kids.

I think maybe you're talking about toddlers and tiaras and iv always seen episodes like that. Also saw where the moms would get angry at their daughters if they messed up on stage.

I also think there should be an limit. Maybe 14 or 16, but allowing 2 year olds, 5 year olds and 9 year olds etc to participate in beauty pageants is a bit wrong for me.

It was probably that one. I watched that for the same reason I watch "Say yes to the dress" from time to time... Because my fiancee likes it xD

I agree with you. They should get older before compete.

I had no idea that these highly exploitive mini pageants stillexisted. I think that child predators lurk in the midst of these I'll advised acitities. The patents that do this to their daughters need their heads checked. I would be very surprised to find this questionable activity in many counties outside the USA where these occur.

Everything of that nature is exploitive. From the minute you come out your mothers womb, someone is exploiting you. And that someone is Uncle Sam, or whatever government your afflicted with. But yes, there really is no reason for a child beauty pageant..

I feel it does foster a "too old" image that men can desire wrongly.

like 12-14yo girls dressing up like 18yo and having dating problems with older guys...

"she said she was 18, officer"

Yes. These events should never have even been thought of. The only fans of child pageants that I can think of are pedos and greedy people who want to live vicariously through their children.
