Why are Asians so tall when they are not raised in Asia?

There is a stereotype that Asian men are short, but I find when they are raised in western countries, the opposite happens, they end up taller than average.

I visited a Costco store in a city that was mostly south Asian and almost every one inside the store was over 6 feet tall.

A 1920s Stanford study found Japanese children raised in America were 6 inches taller than Japanese children raised in Japan.

Why are Asians so tall when they are not raised in Asia?
