President Trump also stated that the birthright citizenship was intended for the children of black slaves. The illegals took advantage of this law.
I haven't seen how it's ended or what is to come. On the one hand if you jump the border illegally and give birth here, I think it's BS that they're kid gets to be an American. On the other this is a bar that he's removing that is opening up the door for new legislation that could lead to him finding legal ways to deport actual Americans or first-generation legal immigrants. If you don't have birthright citizenship depending on what's to come and what's done, we might be seeing American's Trump thinks are a problem being deported to foreign labor camps like he's doing with the illegals now. I also don't like he's trying to avoid due process. I want the problem solved but I want it done legally or we have a dictator. The checks and balances in our government are there specifically to keep the presidents power in check and keep them honest. Trump couldn't tell the truth if tried.

Nobody had the guts to do this before

Birthright citizenship is for black people who were forced to come to America against their will. This was not intended for the entire world the cross our borders illegally. Honoring them is a slap in the face to the slaves.
And if you watch the news, you'll see that Democrats continually lie and say that Trump deported a five-year-old girl with cancer. It's a complete lie and the Democrat dick politicians know it. The little girl was born here and she will always be a us citizen and welcome here. The truth is that her own mother deported her because she didn't want to leave her in Foster care.22 Reply- 1 y
"Lmao now all of a sudden y’all care about black people and slavery."
When did I say I was for black people are slaves? I never said it, you did!
Now put on your thinking cap. How does keeping or ending birthright citizenship help blacks or slaves?
You and al sharpton need to stop the race baiting. This topic has nothing to do with race, but for you and al, everything has to be boiled down to race.
1.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It's wonderful, and my legal immigrant mother thinks so as well. Birthright citizenship should only apply to children whose parents are here legally, so Trump is simply correcting the problem. He's not getting rid of birthright citizenship, he is simply clarifying it.

u 1 yI think it's asinine honestly. At this point he could deny any of us as being legally here. They plan to completely ignore the constitution for their own political gain. It's just another step in this dystopian society we find ourselves in at this point. There needs to be a new revolution soon before it's too late.

@Ez-Bri-Z_v2 I am really astonished, shocked and stunned by some of the completely untrue statements you make
- 1 y
If you don't like them or agree with them, that's fine. That doesn't make them untrue though.
People have been ringing the alarms about what Trump and the Project 2025 team have been doing since before he was elected, and every time those claims get dismissed, by those who love Trump, as something that wouldn't happen. When it does happen though, the goal posts get moved, and you learn to just accept what he did and claim it's for the best. - 1 y
Trump has become the personified goalpost. Wherever he goes (stumbles), is always the correct stance, even if it changes three times in 48 hours. And the MAGA minions get to clap each time like the brainless seals that they are and never question anything.
- 1 y
Yep. I've seen them eat up every little move and claim it was done on purpose to "own the libs", for example the fight between him and Elon Musk or the yo-yo'ing on tariffs.

Of course! The (in) famous Trumpian 4D chess that mere mortals cannot comprehend!

Or we should have been more thoughtful in electing our representatives to begin with.

1 yI didn't follow this enough to make a comment about it (I try to avoid the flood of Trump related news every day), but isn't it interesting how quick and easy it is for the right to change the constitution when it's about something they don't like? Because whenever it's about guns, this seems to be something that is completely impossible...

1 yThe child is a citizen the parents not. Now that that is settled about the child's citizenship. Why in all the years that the illegal parents were here did they not file in any manor file for legal citizenship. Twenty years or longer living here on the dole get picked up as illegals and they think they have the right to stay here. Please try that with any other country. and tell me what happens
10 Reply 27.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Trump is right about this. To offer free welfare for life just for having an anchor baby is not a viable option

1 yI don't usually agree with Trump but I think an immigrant should be legally settled before their child gets citizenship.
However I can't help feel we're soon going to see a round up of anchor babies by ICE as their citizenship is revoked.12 Reply- 1 y
I hear they need only raid the child cancer wards...
2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Its odd that its a thing to begin with, most countries don't have it based on location but based on nationality of the parent.

1 yIt's about time the US clarified its citizenship rules. No other country has unrestricted birthright citizenship. Putting reasonable restrictions on it make sense.
03 Reply- 1 y
It would be wrong, though, to undo the past, putting unwarranted and unnecessary hardship on those many people who are de facto good citizens. Keep what has happened and change the rules going forward.

I think it's important to remember everybody's ancestors migrated here even white Americans the only indigenous people here wad Indians
- 1 y
@Bklynbadboy12 And those ancestors, except for a small minority, entered the country legally and became naturalized citizens.

I’m surprised you would ask that. You’re smart enough to figure out what I’m implying about drumpf in that statement, let alone what it has to do with my statement about white people and birthright citizenship.
