Zohran Mamdani , I was against him at first. Though I like his policy ideas.

- He wants to give free bus fare ,

- Open govt owned competing grocery stores where prices are strategically lower than competition to get grocery prices in all competing stores to slash artificial price gouges which plague consumers for far too long ,

- Lower cost of rent

- Raise wages to cover the minimum cost of living

- Punish bad landlords

- Open affordable housing units for homeless that can stay there while earning money at a job

- And tax the richest residents (not those under million dollars)

He has a way to pay for all these, allowing the State of New York to take in $5 billion in revenue to pay for his agenda. I’ve heard bad things about Deblasio, Cuomo, Giuliani when they were in power (also Eric Adams in power) so, I will say we should look closely at this Mamdani guy because he is given a low hanging fruit of leadership to just jump over. Just has to be better than any of those characters.

Another thing I support of his, the wanting for a govt office for safer communities AND getting those struggling with mental health off our Subway platforms / streets and putting them in facilities that will help them.

These proposals aren’t extreme or irrational, it is the corporate media that wants us to believe that it is so, we don’t value our fellow man or woman.
It isn’t a crime to want more affordable housing, more affordable transportation, more affordable means of feeding your family, and getting mental people off the streets and into effective care facilities, wanting mega rich elitists to pay their fair share as we do, and for wages to cover the minimum cost of living in this Hellscape.

Mamdani is young which is a turn off, though I remember when people said Biden was too old. Suddenly, Trump is the one too old. I’ve seen his gaffes back in The White House, even stumbling on the stairs. He sells Presidential merch for money to shove in his greedy pockets and so on. He is the least qualified to lead us compared to a new young face.

It always amazes me how thick Americans are about what Communism actually is. If you called a yellow-skinned Chinese a n**, you'd be being no less inaccurate in your racism than calling Mamdami a 'Commie'.

Let me tell you this: both Republicans and Democrats are organised crime syndicates. It's non-negotiable: they have an insider-trading racket going on on Capitol Hill, they take bungs/bribes from the jewish donor lobby to screw the non-Zionist majority in the USA and they promote mass murder overseas decade after decade.

You don't have capitalism as your politics, you have warmongering.

Making the rich pay a bit more tax is not communism. It's called a 'progressive taxation system'. Just because you Americans are so extreme that you can't even consider something like that anything but 'Communism' doesn't stop it being a very common political feature across many non-US nations.

Trying to prevent asset bubbles to benefit solely the rentier class is not Communism, it's trying to create a less unequal society. If you are all so extreme that you can only consider huge inequality as an 'acceptable political system', then no-one on earth should have any sympathy for you when you all get screwed over, again and again and you put your scarred veterans on the streets to live hand-to-mouth from charity.

I could go on, and on, and on. I"m not saying who you should vote for, but if you can't educate yourselves about what Communism is or isn't, you aren't fit to vote in any election because you're simply all too prejudiced, too blinkered and too dupable to even be capable of evaluating candidates correctly.

Between the two, I'd pick Trump. I'm not as enthusiastic about Trump as when I voted for him.  But Mamdami sounds nuts. The only thing I like about him is his stance against Israel.

Even if you don't like Mamdami's policies, it's safe to say that they would be heavily watered down by the time they became law, and no remotely controversial preogressive policies would make it through congress at all.
Basically, he'd just be a lame duck president from day one, and there are far worse things than that - like having Trump as president, for example.
