I believe it's a form of measurement, although I don't believe in the accuracy being fully accurate, I believe it's a way to get an idea or measure intelligence, but that can come from many forms of intelligence, someone can be made at math for example but good at science or bad at science and math and good at general thinking or good at vocabulary and debates and socialization, they say the IQ tests is to test everything and general intelligence but if you've ever taken an IQ test you'll see that most of the questions on there can't test everything and they can test you on your weaknesses and that will also effect your score, personally I took an IQ test before but I was intelligent enough not to pay for the results, I think I passed 😂

IQ is a comparative measure. It tells how much above or below the average a person is based on a standardized test. IQ tests like Raven's Progressive Matrices are non-verbal, thus aren't bias against culture or skewed by language barriers. So either you perform better or worse than the average person. It's not really a complicated concept.

It's a unit of measurement to say one don't believe in it makes no sense. It would be more do you trust the outcome to be accurate. Which I say mostly and of course depends on how reliable the source and study was.

as in, from the very start... it was advised not to overstate the quality of such tests, based on the lack of validity and also, because of the lack of consistency of reliability across tests

and then, that's exactly what pseudoscientists, to overstate the actual validity of IQ tests

especially those with biased agendas... like, those who believe in eugenics or those snobby "high IQ societies"

General intelligence is a vague concept but it is measurable.
