Is their an Islamic sect that forbids touching a bottle of wine, liquor?

In crowded supermarket in checkout line customer bough a lot of bottles of wine& booze. Though I often bag my own & this customer would have been fine with it. They had to stop the entire checkout, find a bagger, but her in place with explanation. Guy was so pissed off. He said about his purchase "I'm buying a case of wine, there is both glass and cardboard - she can't even see it because of cardboard. Seemed like the store- everyone paying attention now- sounded like they were totally for the employee, religious whatever rights. Only the line he was in which now included double digit line + myself; sympathized with the guy spending an extra 20 minutes getting out. Is there any sect of any spiritual condition that prohibits that. I qould have bet that this was probably a politically motivated hire since she checks so many boxes but really. If she never told whomever hired her than I'd think that would is allow anything short of a disability to do their job.

And yet, so many of them own and run convenience stores or chains of same where they are all too happy to sell it. (And yes, I can tell Muslim from Hindu from Sikh, so not I am not confusing the franchise owners, although the latter own and run many convenience stories and franchises too).
