Why? What would be the point? This approaches the question as if a longer sentence solves something or that satisfying your emotions for justice or revenge is the important part. I do not think so.

For me its about trying to resolve a problem. Prison for me serves as either a place for rehabilitation or to protect society from an individual. In other words, either the person becomes rehabilitation in which case they should be let out or alternatively they would always be a threat to society in which case they should never be let out.

For me this is nothing about what they deserve. Its about setting an outcome and doing what is necessary to accomplish it. These half measures and emotionally motivated decisions just does not do anything.

There are a lot of actions that are sex offenses, and most of them do not involve non-consensual sexual contact. What if an 18-year-old has sex with his 16-year-old girlfriend? In some places that is a sex crime, even though it was fully consensual.
