Essentially it’s the one thing they’re better at than women. It became a part of their masculine culture to focus on all the things that they had exclusively as men so you basically have the power and capability of physical violence and a cultural obsession with phalluses. They encourage it because in a patriarchal society, exposing themselves to acts of even fictional violence alongside displaying themselves further emphasizes the power they have as men and ensures the promise of power they receive in that patriarchy.

when men and women get into a fight, the men usually win because they're stronger but that's often conflated with the winner of the fight being completely violent and the loser of the fight being non-violent

lions are more violent than elephants but a lion would almost always lose a fight to an elephant

when you include an outside control variable such as children and the elderly as a standard of measure of whom is the recipient of more violence, women are more violent towards those demographics than men are towards those demographics

for the same reason women are more neurotic than men. hormones. it's all in the hormones. more testosterone, more aggressive and violent; more estrogen, more neurotic an more emotional. it is what it is. they both have advantages and disadvantages.
