About a month ago, my high school girlfriend called me out of the blue. She found my number on one of those person search sites. I am married, she is widowed. We had had an unpleasant breakup. Her name is Wendy. Over all 57 years, I passed by Wendy's restaurants and saw this.

She looked a lot like that and sometimes even wore those pigtails for fun.
Each of the thousands of times I saw that emblem, I thought of her.
