Why soccer is not popular in the USA?

It's one of the most popular sports in the world with immense popularity in Europe and South America but not in the USA, why?

Probably because it's not a traditional sport in the USA like baseball, basketball and football. Plus, there's not much action, only running around and footwork.

Cricket, rugby and hurling never caught on here, either. And there are other sports that Americans never even heard of.

It’s popular in the US too, but there’s American football to compete with in the US. Note that soccer isn’t the top sport in all countries- look at cricket in South Asia, hockey in Canada and Finland, baseball in the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Venezuela, or basketball in Israel and Lithuania, for example. I think basketball is also more popular in China, and maybe also the Philippines.

America is a country with a culture of violence, so more violent sports are often more appealing to us than those that aren’t. American football is the most popular sport in the country for a reason.

I assume the American viewers/fans are already busy with watching American Football, Baseball and Basketball. They don't have the time for a fourth major sport.

American's are very insular in their world view. They don't want to have sports that they can't dominate in the culture.

No one cares about the NFL outside of the USA or maybe North America. I have never seen an American football game (outside of zapping into a game) and I don't know anyone who watches it. But I know hundreds of people watching the European leagues, World Cup, European Cup...
