Much the same here. Due to European immigration soccer has a strong following but Aussie Rules football is by far the most followed. It is way more a spectacular game. And skillful. Players can run run away from the goals and kick the ball over their head to go through the goals behind them.

We see soccer as being boring.

In our game the ball is kicked more than any other code. It can't be thrown as in American football or rugby though we can punch the ball. Other than kicking the ball, everything else is to get the ball to a team mate who can kick it. You can only score by kicking the ball.

So there is a lot of foot and ball that justifies it being called football though mostly we call it footy.

Yes I know international football is popular globally and American football (or what you like to call American rugby) is popular only in the US.
I’m not sure why international football didn’t catch on here and why our football didn’t catch on elsewhere.

Granted. Of course if we talk about yearly revenue by league, team, and match, the NFL is by far #1 in all three. The top "soccer/football" league is Premier League at #4 in revenue by league and team, and #2 in revenue by match at around 28% per match/game averga of what the NFL takes in.

It concentrates all the world's attention, all the best players, and therefore all the revenue in one league.

In soccer, the best players are divided between these championships.

I have watch many soccer matches, played on a massive field, and seemingly going on for literally hours, with the result being perhaps 1 or 2 goals scored for the entire game... In addition... South American soccer is very violent... with records showing that losing fans have gone onto the field and ACTUALLY KILLING the officials... burning the stadium and god knows what else. This is NOT hearsay or bullshit, it has happened. So do be so sanctimonious with your insults about the 'ignorance' of Americans about the 'wonderful world of European and South American soccer.

Well in Europe too supporter can be very violent (even children soccer games can get extremely violent with parents or teenager beating down black an blue the referees but I don't see how it matter though?).
Personal opinion but I don't like watching games with too much goals it's annoying, too easy ways more interesting when it hard.
And actually there's also many match that end up with zero goal too it happen or on a tie.
Nothing wrong with it but I guess that's difference in culture.

Football culture in general is pretty violent because they have some hardcore fan.
