Years ago I had to threaten to quit if my boss did not give me the day off to witness the birth of my son. He told me that when his kids were born he went to work and went to the hospital after work. How do all these people get the day off from work? What would happen to them if their bosses saw then on television holding up a sign after they called in with a stomach flu?

Some do the rare thing and take time off from work. Most people who protest during the weekday are unemployed, or working and they're getting paid by PACs to protest, with that payment offsetting what they lose by taking time off from work.
I believe that we get "family leave" when it's a close family member. They HAVE to let you off!!
