I'm not sure about the rest of the country, but in New York City, people on escalators almost never move over. It's just like stupid oblivious people driving slow in the fast lane. Especially during the morning commute. Thoroughly annoying.
WTF is the escalator rule? They sound like the Karen's in America USA asked me for the manager to escalate things?

I don't think we have that escalator rule here... but I saw it followed in the UK.
