As a Progressive, no it is not true.

The following statement: “You get more conservative when you get older" only really worked for the generations that got RICHER as they got older. The real truth was always just "You get more selfish the more money you have" is not true from my level of understanding and perspective.

I’ve always saw Conservative as a point of understanding.
When you are brought up in a very Conservative background and those ideas also beliefs stick to you, it isn’t easy to just unravel what you were brought up with.

As you get older, the harder it is to dissipate / dissociate with those points of understanding you were always told as “correct” or “true” or “good”.
Like being told about “Autism” or “Transgender” or “Bisexuality” or “Environmental Protection” you’ll go “I have a great level of understanding based on Retards, Transvestites, and Only Heterosexuality or Queer there is no other sexuality types rather than being open to learning more about certain areas which are more complicated than that.

Honestly, this goes for a lot of different religions, cultures, and perspectives though I do not subscribe to the notion Conservative as you get older is based on selfishness of money. I just don’t see it.

This is true. So many boomers were hippies and now all of a sudden their God fearing, judgmental, can't mind their own business what other people do with their lives, assholes. Important note here. I know it's not all boomers. Many are wonderfully amazing people. On average, in my experience, especially work experience, they're greedy, entitled, martyrs, that think nobody works hard but them. They refuse to acknowledge prices to wages for generations younger than them. They're many times (not always), In power, and terrible to work for.
