very common take I see at least on my social media algorithms. it's been my experience with my boomer parents (yeah they're old, they were literally grandparents by the time I was born). they were well off. left my two brothers and sister destitute and broke. didn't even get them a car to get to work in at 16-17 but forced them to get a job. almost like they were living in the 50s where making ice cream cones all day could pay enough to afford a new car. the funny part? when my brother ODd and my other brother was locked up in prison for selling drugs and my sister almost died from an obesity related stroke, they said it wasn't their responsibility. who said it was? a guilty conscience?

the "never grows up" thing is so true. my mom was practically roleplaying like she was 18 with her new boyfriend at close to 70 years old. boomer women set the absolute worst example possible for following generations of women. i dont think it's the human at its core that's the problem though, it's not who they are. it's likely just mass media brainwashing. they were the first generation to have tv - a set of 5 to 10 channels to flip through while they ate their prepackaged meals loaded with endocrine disruptors. and drinking 150g of sugar in soda every day, out of plastic containers.

your point about how boomers think so confidently about their beliefs, whether theism or atheism, stands true. they grew up in a world with just enough information to make them dangerous. just enough information where they had to believe their professor or try to disprove him by spending all day in a library searching for cross references. we live in a world that was designed for and by nerds with way too much confidence in dubious claims. even a biochemist from the 60s will say everything they knew was proven wrong or updated majorly. yet they were all running around acting like they had conquered nature and now all that was left to do was invite the entire world in to their country.

Too much variety to be true. We overly indulged them but failed to train them properly. The Greatest Generation pampered us too. They didn't want us to suffer as they did during the depression and WW2. But they placed The Good Life (partying and cruises) ahead of building our character. Yes, there were
