Kinda related but would a gay man have driven more MAGAs to the polls? More libs?

3 moButtigieg was one of the smartest guys in DC. Even my Republican buddy (hates MAGA) agrees and would’ve voted for him.
But I sadly think the gay thing would be an issue, even on the left. I don’t get it, but people are just bugged out by it on some weird level. I think we just aren’t there yet. And the right would of course lose their fucking minds over it🙄🤦♂️
I think you have to go straight white guy next election, because all that matters at this point is getting the win and saving America from the path of destruction it’s currently on. We can’t get into this “are you liberal ENOUGH?” bullshit. Gaza will be a resort by the time 2028 is here, that battle was lost last November. Give it up. It’s an atrocity, but we’re powerless to stop it. Can’t have all this “they’re in the pocket AIPAC!” Doesn’t matter anymore, it’s over. We tried, but Americans are bad people. C’est la vie.
Gavin Newsom seems like the obvious choice. People don’t care about substance, they want a show. He can give a show and he looks the part. Principles aren’t just in the backseat, they’re in the trunk. Get the W at all costs, or everything that was ever good about America is over. That’s where we’re at.

He's putting in the effort and enjoyable watching him doing it.

If the Democrats would have been insane enough to demand people vote for him because he’s a homosexual, you can hardly blame the voters for voting for their opponents.
If Harris had been smart and not afraid of the Nazis in her party, she would have chosen Josh Shapiro.13 Reply- 2 mo

3 moShe lost, so she would’ve lost anyhow.
If it were Bernie Sanders and Pete Buttigieg then it would’ve done better.
The next Presidential Candidate will have to be a wide sweeping voice of reason and against executives that someone can actually trust to lower the political temperature, fix the gun crisis, solve the housing market crisis, insurance crisis, add assistance towards mental health crisis, and push hard for expansion of civilian freedoms while restricting the powers of The President also to put back government programs that saves Americans money also dismantle 401ks for steady reliable pensions.
Don’t get hooked up on the 2024 election, just as I said about 2020 and focus on the work that needs to be done now and needs to be done in 2028.

3 moI think he would have helped her! I know that wasn't an option of yours but he's a very intelligent, articulate man. I definitely believe it wouldn't have hurt her chances, because the Democrats and independents that didn't show up at the polls, may have if he was on the ticket. He would have given her legitimacy. Tim Waltz, without question, changed people's minds. He hurt her in the election. Buttigieg even basically said she was wrong, that he has more faith in American's.
20 Reply23.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Mayor Pete was not even a good mayor of a small city never mind VP. He was a total failure as the Sec of Transportation. He spent most of it on maternity leave. He totally did nothing about the failing air traffic control system and his performance with the supply chain was non existent.

3 moIt’s so funny watching you only care about the race and sexuality of your presidential candidates. You’re like the klan.
There’s not a person she could have picked that would have rescued her. She’s a fucking disaster and Waltz and buttchug would both have been demolished by Vance.113 Reply- 3 mo

Anonymous(18-24)2 moThe thing is that a lot of Hispanics and blacks are anti lgbtq much more than conservative whites. Muslims too. Most are more conservative than MAGA whites, so a gay candidate might cause those groups not to turn out at all.

Anonymous(30-35)3 moNo, Pete would have been less of a risk then Tim Waltz. If Harris thought not holding a legit primary then replacing her with Biden was a big risk then I would have completely agreed. Pete would have been off putting to some extremist on the far right, but not so much to voters on the left and right who lean towards the center like Tim was.

Anonymous(25-29)3 moHard to say. But unlike Walz, at least Buttigieg is open an honest about being gay.

She had her opportunities. And blew them.
2.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Pete wouldn't have helped her. His handling of the train derailment was a disaster. Granted Kamala's biggest obstacle was that Joe only resigned from the candidacy and not the presidency.

Opinion Owner2 mo@Avicenna I'm not sure about that given Biden won his election and Kamala lost hers

She was a DEI hire who had not participated in the primaries.
