Does child protective services (CPS) have have a very strict standard for single fathers vs. a lax standards for single mothers?

Yes. Absolutely. It may be unintended or unintentional, but 100% the answer is yes.
Thanks for Most Helpful. 👍
Yes, of course they do. Just like the courts do. Fathers get treated like trash.
Unless there's evidence the male is a hazard to the child, that is so wrong! Where in nature does the female cow milk the male?
Cannot be that way across the country...
No wonder you've got a bitter edge to relationships.
To be fair though, males in nature... always been a sacrifice.
@lightbulb27 There are at least two reasons. First, CPS can't single out single mothers because there are too many. Therefore, CPS lacks the necessary resources. However, they can single out single fathers, so they do. Second, almost all CPS social workers are women, mostly feminists, and they have a bias against males, even if they believe they are treating them the same. This is similar to female teachers favoring certain students, which they were unaware of until the study highlighted it to them.
that makes some sense. so we need more men in those roles? As a child, most people want their fathers and I think statistics show that fathers are important. More importantly, is family unity... which the woman largely controls.
LOL:)! Experience and perspective is what changes things. I can flex on immigration and care of the unfortunate.

Before commenting on this question, do you have a link to this "very strict standard for single fathers" and "lax standards for single mothers"?
Since this ultimately is a legal issue, this means these "standards" are published online or otherwise publicly available for all to see and read. This is because you'd have a right to any legal resources to defend yourself and, also, any lawyer you hire would also need access to these. (*)
Furthermore, there must be due process for anyone. For instance, 30 years ago, my buddy got divorced and ultimately, in family court, he got full-custody of his son because the mother was a whack-job.
So, can you please provide a link to these standards? If you can't, then all you are doing is echoing preconceived and possibly false assertions.
(*) A lot of people say a lot of bullshit, but, once there are statutes or other legally-impactful information involved, that information MUST be publicly available for all to see. It is the responsibility of people to do their due diligence and consult those legal resources before formulating opinions, make (possibly false) assertions, or otherwise act.
That's not how the law works, young lady. When you get involved with it, you will understand. And, furthermore, you better start studying it a bit because it is not a question of if you have a legal issue of some sort, but of when.
Other than that, any assertions you make, no matter how true they are in the de facto real world, are legally void and meaningless in a legal setting. This is why I asked my original question about pointing to a statute or some other "official policy documentation".
It definitely has been pushed in the arena that I've played over the years being a single / divorced dad many a times.
Whether married or not the CPS females all seem to be completely and totally lesbians or females / Mothers who are now men haters.
No matter the fact at this point I've been iny career for over 28 years and held a job at 12 to 16 then to 50+ Pay taxes and no criminal charges and pay my child support and more on time.
This is just my opinion based on my experience with these low life's in the area of CPS.
Ofcourse woman are often free to do what they want and a lot of them are hurting their child after a breakup just for their own selfish motivations
Yes. Sexism is rampant in family court & divorce court
Always. When my mother was a Detroit girl in the 1920's to the mid-30's, no single father could raise a daughter over a certain age.
They are strict on everyone the dont play. They will take your kids and you'll never see them again
on paper no. in practice yes.
like i'm actually working in social work at a school and i have a 16 year old client who's moms new friend asked her to touch him inappropriately and the mom even encouraged her to do it. they didn't do shit about that. they basically told that guy to "not meet the kid anymore" but they're doing nothing to inforce that. imagine that was the father doing that. they would have immediately taken away his custody.
100%
Definitely
Unfortunately
obviously.
