Black bomber cheese is a strong cheddar that comes encased in black wax, hence the name. It's a popular brand here, I like it because it goes well with crackers.
But is it an acceptable name for the 21st century? The name conjures up images of black terrorists planting bombs, and surely that's not acceptable.
We've got rid of those awful Uncle Ben packets, and a lot of places have renamed midget gems mini gems so as not to offend dwarves. So is a cheese that promotes racist attitudes really acceptable? I think it should be named after a strong independent black woman.

The company might of considered it looks like a mortar bomb, a common type of projectile of artillery in use in the early to late 19th century. Just like the bomb, the cheese explodes exciting your taste buds in your mouth. I'm not keen on cheese so it does nothing for me.
I think muslim bomber would be more controversial. In real world no white ethnocentric person calls blacks that way outside politically correct fora. Maybe using Spanish term for black would be more spicy and would cause more controversy.

IMHO, Black Bomber is completely acceptable. If someone doesn't like the name, they should think about the Tuskegee Airmen in World War II. Each of them was a black bomber, one of the most successful US air squadrons in the war.
It sounds like it's delicious but Black Bomber isn't an apt name for a cheese from Snowdonia ! Perhaps something like, well 'Snowdonia Mature' might sound better?

OK time for some facts. It's already legal to marry your cousin here and has been for centuries. Secondly Muhammad is only the most common name because almost every Muslim is called it. They don't have many names to choose from and so it skews the stats.
No, the name of the cheese is not racist. The only thing racist about the cheese is the idiots saying it is racist. It is they, not the cheese, that is racist. The racists are going wild because snow is white, and there is nothing they can do about it
The description is inaccurate. Under the wax the cheese is not black and not remotely as strong as the mature cheese you get at Cheddar Gorge in Somerset.
It's extra mature so it can handle people misinterpreting its label.

I forget the name of the cheese maker. But up to somewhere around the eighties. There was a brand of very sharp cheese called “Cxxn Cheese!” ( replace x’s with O’s)
The name conjures up images of cheese on toast with a dash of L&P for me... If your mind jumps to images of black men blowing things up that indicates a problem with you, not the cheese.
