It's not officially over and done yet.

It's going to take until after the Thanksgiving 4 day weekend and then they will go back into session.

Then we have to wait, probably for weeks maybe until people get the money on their SNAP benefits card and can buy food again.

It may have ended, however, it's going to take a while yet before people are all paid and are giving their back pay for coming to work and not getting paid.
As I mentioned before, it's going to take a while to put 42 (?) million people's money on their SNAP card so they can buy food again.
I will consider it over when everything is back to normal like the shutdown never happened!
And I did watch the news. That's how I found out that they will be in session 3 days prior to the Thanksgiving 4 day holiday and not coming back until the following Monday.
