Have you ever used the “I don’t want to see this” option on this website?

I recently used it after another person insulted my heritage by saying “most ____ women are ugly.”

Yes it did offend me but I noticed I’m likely not the only person who could be offended by this comment. Other people may have been offended too if they saw it. I think I deleted it before anybody else could see it. At least I actually care about the feelings of others.

Some people may view me as weak minded for doing this but oh well.
What I did isn’t against the rules

Yeah, there’s this one guy on here who stalks my page and replies to a lot of my comments that I leave on other peoples questions. He doesn’t reply with anything rude, but always shares his opinion under mine. It’s annoying, if he wants to share his opinion then he should do so in his own comment, not tagging me and replying to my comment. So I always click “I don’t want to see this” and get rid of his replies.

Is that the person with the username something like mysteriousNick. He’s done that to me a lot to when I share my opinions on other questions.

I use it sparingly. If they say something too offensive then I can just report and remove it since im a mod, but if its just lame then I juat hit the I dont want to see this option. I also use it for when people keep going on my comment thread after I've told then im done.

I don't want to see this opinion is the remove button for mortals. It doesn't just hide it from you. Its really bad site design.

Yeah im fine with it being hidden from everyone though. It's a good delete button and like you said, it doesn't give someone the last word

Only when necessary, like them blocking me on a question to pretend they had the last argument ill just delete theirs because I don't put up with shenanigans like that. Or when its an overt insult. But its pretty rare for me to do this, I don't do it on peoples posts I disagree with for example.
