What are your thoughts on the Online Safety Act and other similar content bans?

They're one step away from putting adult content behind a pay wall. I don't like that and definitely don't like how they're essentially putting everyone who watches porn on an easily accessible list. I wonder what they're planning to do with everyone's information.

I think adult content shouldn’t be easily accessible to children.
As for your name on a list if you watch porn. I think the easiest way to do that is take a list of everyone in the U. S. and cross off the 100 or so people that don’t watch porn. Obviously an exaggeration but that list would be so massive what could they (who ever they are) do with it? Jail 3/4 of the population? No. It’s a meaningless list and trust me…. Your name is already on hundreds of lists already. Hell, between AMAZON and FACEBOOK they know everything there is to know about you.

It’s not about jail. It’s about the fact that most people are still sexually repressed and can quite easily be manipulated by extortion; i. e. threatening to out your porn habits to family, friends, neighbors and business partners.
Even the average vanilla bean gets squeamish about that. Why else is it so easy to clear your search history on every browser commercially available?

Well what is being talked about is government bills like the “Online safety act”. You are correct if someone hacks your computer (and they have already) and they get screen shots of what you are watching or worse open your camera and get video of what you are doing to what’s on your screen there is a good chance of blackmail. This is something that happens all the time… that has nothing to do with this bill or any ban on content.

It's a government crackdown on the internet under the guise of keeping children safe. It's about control of information and what people do and say nothing less. It's also causing nock on wood effects in other countries including my own and it's a step towards 1984

Understandable, but it will eventually affect everyone that uses social media. They've been talking about ID age verification for any social media app or website, even relatively small ones like this. I can respect going with the flow since ultimately they're playing a rich man's game. All we can do is complain whether it helps or not.
