From their personal lives to social lives does it seek like men or women are happier where you are?
8 moI don't think it's a simple question. There has to be research on this that could answer more accurately.
For me though I would guess it's not tied to gender just the individual person.
Of course if I need to state the obvious people say that whatever they are has it harder. Women will say women have it harder, men will say men have it harder, Black people will say Black people have it harder, White people will say White people have it harder, etc.
If I were to guess though I'd guess men are happier. Men normally being much physically stronger than women is a pretty huge advantage. Men in almost all countries can go out by themselves with no worries. Meanwhile a woman doesn't have the privilege and won't be able to defend herself against a man trying to rape or kill her unless she has a weapon.
Sure you could say that women have more social support as in female rape is taken a lot more seriously than male rape but if the person is already dead then social support doesn't matter. Women are more vulnerable to death from physical attacks.

8 moAI says...
Women report higher levels of life satisfaction than men on average, but this is often accompanied by higher levels of stress and a greater risk of depression. Conversely, some research indicates that men are happier when married, particularly those with children, while single men are often less happy than single women. Ultimately, happiness is complex and varies greatly for individuals due to a multitude of factors, so it is impossible to say definitively who is happier. My personal take... I think women are generally happier... at least in their early years when they get to live life on easy mode (the semi attractive and attractive ones). Those that choose to remain single, I've noticed tend to be very unhappy later in life though. I know a handful that display that. And they're always on the lookout for their ideal partner, and will have boyfriend after boyfriend that they always find something wrong with and continue to be unhappy.10 Reply

8 moIn my experience women are definitely happier. Especially growing up since there 7 females and only 2 males, my dad and granddad, and the older we got the more they went fishing which sometimes I think was just an excuse to go drinking. Wait a minute. Maybe they were happier after all.

8 moWomen use antidepressants significantly more than men. This would suggest that men are far less depressed than women making them a bit more happier than women.

I would think the majority of women taking those antidepressants are just married. I bet they’d go off of them after a divorce (you’d be amazed at how common that story is)

You're more than likely right. Being married can be depressing for a lot of women especially with children.
Asker8 moPerhaps men feel too much social stigma to seek them
- 8 mo
You're probably right about that.

8 moGreat question, I'm curious to see the answers, women take way more antidepressants, but men kill themselves in much higher numbers. So who knows?

Asker8 moBut women also attempt it more

Seriously? Wow... Never knew.
I'm surprised that most people answered that men do on this poll. I know that women have certain hardships that men can only try to imagine, but women just have this natural glow about them, this jovialness, that men don't. They smile more. They laugh more. They radiate more. They're more hydrated. They're closer to life, the living waters. They're less callous, less aggressive, less likely to have a mental illness, less likely to commit suicide, less likely to desperately want an s/o or sex and not be able to get one or it. If I could have chosen whether to be a male or a female, I'd definitely have chosen female.

8 moWomen tend to have more fun than men do but are overall less happy.
They simply do not know how to be happy and need a man to teach them how. Which they hate so they fill the void with superficial relationships and experiences.
And pretty much anyone I know and consider to be a man knows that status will never be the thing that makes you happy and if you spend your time chasing it you'll almost always become a shell of yourself.

8 moI don’t think one gender is happier than the other, they’re just stressed by different things.
Men tend to hide their struggles behind silence.
Women tend to carry theirs in the open.
Happiness isn’t about gender, it’s about how honest you are with yourself and how supported you feel.
Where I am, both men and women are trying just in their own ways.10 Reply- 6.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
8 moWomen have serious mood swings, from happy to sad. That's the way Mother Nature made them, thanks to female hormones.
Men, on the other hand, are much more level-headed, almost all the time.
This means that, on average, Men are happier than Women.

8 moDepends on if they’re married or not. Married men are happier than single men, but single women are happier than married women. And between the two, I often find a single woman is happier than a married man.
20 ReplyThrow a man in a trunk for 4 hours and drive him to a strip club. Let his best friend open the trunk. I won't tell you the reaction. You know what it will be. Now do the same to a woman. Again I dont have to tell you the reaction. You know what it will be.

8 moI've seen about the same I'm not too happy as a man I have depression, anxiety, schizophrenia other mental issues. only when I'm sleeping I feel ok but. I just ignore them I drink every day to kinda make me feel happy.
10 ReplyWithin my circle i’d say men. But at the same time im not a walking-lie-detector. In general i’d say everyone’s depressed and i don’t have enough stats to rank most to least depressed genders

Anonymous(45 Plus)8 moHave you ever known a woman to not be complaining about something? Anything!😆
Women always want more, better, they're NEVER completely satisfied, happy.
Chris Rock does a good job explaining this.
