Does anyone else feel at least slightly more disappointed with Trump's second term vs. his first?

I will say I voted for Trump these past 3 elections. He may have not served the second election, and while many speculate it was because the left cheated, I would not be surprised but I don't know what information to believe anymore.

That is one very significant thing I need to emphasize: I don't know what sources to believe, which ones are conspiracy theories, and which ones are actually genuinely true. There is so much misinformation, I don't know exactly what to believe anymore regarding our government and politics. I just know there is a shit ton of corruption, greed, and passiveness at many turns.

I will say, on a positive note, I am happy Trump tackled this whole woke, "politically correct", social engineering issue head on and restored some common sense. This leftist PC propaganda was a cancer, and I honestly feel it was a main factor why our nation was heading down the tube. While the Trump administration has destroyed that cancer in multiple facets, sadly it is still running rampant on media.

I am also happy Trump addressed the border and illegal immigration crisis promptly, swiftly, and with full-on force.

Here is where I am losing my support with Trump: the cost of living, inflation, and opportunity for everyday, middle-class and working-class Americans and younger generations alike. I feel many of them are being butchered right now. This was the main "selling-point" for Trump during his first term. At some point he must take ownership as everyday Americans continue to struggle and scrape at the bottom of the barrel just to feed themselves, their children, and their pets.

Trump's solution of a 50-year mortgage sounds like a shit idea. Does this mean for younger generations to afford homes, the solution is to be enslaved to debt longer with more interest in the end? I also feel Trump is failing to address the soaring prices on basic essentials like food.

I will say this, over these many years, our fire departments, emergency services, infrastructure, and healthcare system has been on a downwards spiral. I agree that some of these issues are handled at the state and local levels, but I must point out that often we become wrapped up in hot button issues we neglect the basic things that are on "life support" right now.

Let’s get real…he only ran a second time mainly because: 1) To avoid all his legal problems and cases resulting from his incorrigible criminality, and mainly going to jail. 2) To put petal to the metal on the grift, to enrich himself. He got a small taste of it during Trump 1.0 (when he had the hotel downtown, tried to host events at his shitty gold courses, when he overcharged the secret service multiple times to stay at his properties, etc. etc.) but learning from his first term, he maximized it in 2.0 and all the hesitation about breaking norms are completely gone. It’s all about crypto with shady foreign investors—we’re talking about corruption on epic scale, out in plain view.

But to your point, he is the same as last time, just worse. He continues to lie hundreds of times a day about EVERYTHING. But his focus is NOT the country, NOT the people, or anything else —only ever all about him. He is wildly out of touch with the country. He has no business being in public service. I wish he’d take his money and go fu*k off, and stop making the people so miserable, subjecting us to his sadist tendencies.

He has done an incredible job on pushing tax cuts , closing the border, addressing the fentanyl problem, getting better trade deals and lowering gas prices. This is despite all the lawfare that the democrats are using to try and block everything he is trying to accomplish. The DOJ and attorneys have done a good job at filing injunctions and finding alternate paths to accomplishing the President's agenda. The Supreme Court has also made many favorable rulings mainly because of the Justices that Trump appointed in his first term.

It seems like he is not addressing the problem of affordability that was created during the biden administration. The truth is that when prices go up, they tend to go down very slowly if at all.

The significant thing is that inflation has been stabilized. It has been between 2% and 3% over the last year. This is down from the 9.9% we saw during the previous administration. However, President Trump's pro American Business policies are a long term solution to the problem.

The foundations that he is putting into place will take time to get results. Chevron is constructing offshore oil rigs that can drill down 4 miles and when they are online they will produce a million barrels a day. There are numerous companies that are investing trilllions in building facilities in the US. Data Centers for AI are being built all over the country. These will create good paying jobs for Americans and encourage industries to locate in the US instead of moving overseas.

When the tax cuts take effect in 2026 and interest rates continue to go down there will be considerable growth in the economy and businesses will be more confident that America is on the right track.

@Tamera952 People are lead to believe that prices will go back down to what they were before Biden was elected. This is not going to happen in most cases. Gas prices are going down as is the price of eggs. The important thing to look at is the inflation rate. Salaries are rising faster that the rate of inflation which is favorable instead of the opposite that happened when the previous administration was in charge.
Doesn't anyone remember about seeing gas prices jump to an all time high of 5+ dollara a gallon? How about going to the supermarket and having to put items back on the shelf at the checkout counter because you did not have enough money to buy everything in your cart?
Prices have definitely stabilized and some items have gone down but it will never be what it was during Trump's first term. We need to move forward and grow the economy and get wages up and support the American economy. This is a long term solution.

I have worked in so many rural communities, especially as an EMT with many rural county EMS departments. I have been all over the place and can say I have seen a shit ton of things. You get the "frequent-flyers" who call 911 all the time constantly for small, minute things. These are likely people who are lonely, live alone with disability, and want others to care for them or have interaction. You have those stubborn people. The only violence you really encounter is when you are dealing with domestic situations pertaining to assailants and their spouse or someone else residing in the same home having a dispute. For the vast majority of instances, I have never felt the slightest afraid. Sometimes I do get nervous when I knock on a door of a home at night thinking what if I am at the wrong house and they mistaken me as an intruder.

So here you go. The priest doesn't have to marry the gay couple because of his "belief" - nobody dies, you find someone who will do it. We can debate the principal later. But the EMT can deny life saving TREATMENT to the gay person because of HIS beliefs, but now the person DIES.
