I've noticed that the left mainstream media always turns off the comments section of their youtube channels when they are trying try to normalize unpopular opinions without being exposed by the public's reaction. Though sometimes they do forget to switch it off to most people's amazement.

I studied journalism in college, and was educated on the difference between private and public news sources. Public news sources are strictly forbidden from expressing their personal opinions without expressly deeming them opinions and their funding comes primarily from federal sources in an attempt to keep this integrity. Private news stations like Fox, CNN, and ABC news, are more than allowed to express their opinions for their viewing audience. They’re also allowed to skew their opinions into the facts and sensationalize whatever information they’re reporting. The sensationalization is important as it keeps viewers panicked and watching for more information, which means the advertisers who primarily fund those same news stations, get even more views and clicks from their scared audience members. Modern journalism, especially in those mainstream branches is less about accuracy, more about the speed at which you can report on something and/or how well you can spin it for your specialized audience. I honestly don’t bother going out of my way to watch or read the news. If something is important, I’m sure I’ll hear about it.

I have a degree in journaiism, so I know how good journalists are trained. A solid journalist should aim to present several views of a particular subject and to do research to back up those views. Otherwise, it isn't journalism, it's an opinion piece.

And I would expect that youtube channels are like podcasts, in general.

They are opinion outlets. Unless you know the channel has a history of presenting several sides, conservative, moderate, liberal, and sometimes even left or right fringe... just so watchers and listeners get a taste of the whole pie.

Again, that's opinion broadcasts, not journalism, whose aim is to give a broad view of the subject to ENLIGHTEN the public and allow them to make up their minds with good information from several sides.

They are just the propaganda wing of the democrat party. They have zero credibility. There is a reason that more people watch Fox News than all the rest of them put together.

I was told never believe everything you are told, including mainstream media.

Its preferable to hear reports from a number of organisations, with left and right wing views, and then a more balanced decision can be made as to the actual truth of the situation.

Sure. I wouldn’t trust political news from leftist rags, mainstream or not, but I can usually trust other things from mainstream media like for example release dates or cooking recipes.
