Should most social programs be put into one thing and have physical locations?

This might be my greatest sober idea.

What if you combined a bunch of the social programs aimed at homeless or otherwise downtrodden but able bodied and put buildings up around the country.

They would have classes and stores but you could only get things that are relevant to getting back up on your feet.

Like Imagine someone living in section 8 housing wants to get a job but all of their clothing is shit they got at hot topic. Maybe they need some khakis and button downs. A person can walk out of their office after consulting the guy about a plan for fixing their life and go to a store that's basically a Walmart clothing isle.

It's scary to me though because I can't imagine it in my head without making it look like how I used to imagine 1984 when we read it in class 😂

This kind of thing might work for people who are temporarily down on their luck and really want to be independent. Unfortunately most people using social services aren't like that. They are just taking advantage of it. If they really wanted to work and support themselves, they'd be doing it.

The thing is that most of those people who are leaching off the system are taking away from the people who might actually deserve it. If all the ones who are capable of working and contributing actually did it, the economy would take off like a rocket and the people who really need services would no problem getting it.

There should be no assistance programs for people who aren’t trying to get off of assistance in the first place.

That's why it's a good idea though because it makes it so that any assistance has to go towards something that could actually help the specific person be productive
