Should Iran and Egypt be forced to play in a World Cup Gay Pride Match?

The draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup resulted in Iran and Egypt playing in a match in Seattle Washington during Seattle's Gay Pride Celebration. Seattle wants to turn the match into a Pride Match.

Being gay in Iran is illegal and frowned upon in Egypt, and both country's football (soccer) associations have voiced their disapproval of this planned match.

Yeah. If they don’t want to participate and respect the local opinion or culture they can withdraw from the competition. Islam and muslims aren’t exactly known for making accomodations for non muslims and people who don’t live according to islamic rules, so there’s no reason accomodations should be made for them.

I always find it curious. I work in a college and they perpetually have 'Diversity' days with rainbow flags littered across the place etc.. A large proportion of the town and the college is Muslim.

I'm curious about how leftists square this circle. You ahve the leftist ideology of diversity, tolerance and inclusion, which obviously extends to Muslims and gay people. But at a certain point (I believe about 30% of my work town is Asian, mostly Pakistani heritage, what happens when the town reaches that critical mass of 'diversity'. As it so happens, I guarantee those events will no longer happen. So what happens when the one you are tolerant of is intolerant? And how does the leftist square this circle of which diversity/victim group to save. As it turns out, clearly it's going to be the Muslim one that will be pandered to as the more aggressive and dominant force. What we're learning is just how weak and spineless the leftist is, and the ultimate consequence of their 'tolerance and inclusion' is, going to lead to the exact opposite.

So again, what are your values? If you believe in all this gay pride business then you defend it vociferously and say, listen you homophobic motherfuckers, we believe in this, if you're against it then fine, don't play. This kind of nonsense is why the West is finished. Because we won't defend our values.

Oh, and I too don't believe in all this political nonsense in football. But still, the point remains.
