I knew a guy who had a couple of advanced degrees. He thought that reading the NYT was proof that he was informed. In reality, he was thoroughly indoctrinated, gullible, and no more informed than someone who gets their information from TV.
My sister's ex was a highly sought after cardiologist; very good at his job. But, aside from that, could barely tie his own shoes. He was an idiot.
Those are just a couple of examples.
Gradates from elite institutions like Oxford, Harvard and Yale are selected and groomed for positions of power where they lie and get wealthy.
Universities basically teach a trade. But the education is narrow. People aren't taught to step outside the bounds of accepted knowledge and think for themselves.
For instance, most professional historians spew Anglo-American propaganda about the origins of WWI and WWII. They just reread what previous historians have written.
And they are not allowed to research the "holocaust". Questioning any detail about that narrative would be called holocaust denial and antisemitic.
Very few doctors, scientists and researchers had a clue about so-called covid or the deadly mRNA abs. They just went with the flow and continued to make money.
Having a degree usually leads to a good career. And those with a good career are not likely to step out of line.
You don't need an advanced degree to do research.
9,482 is a big survey number, I would like further and more broad analysis tbh.
The takeaway is those that are consumers of media, should consume both sides of the spectrum and utilize the broader census of evidence and fact based conclusions more so than general vibe analysis.
Clearly, college graduates tend to gear towards certain media consumption over non college graduates showcasing college graduates tend to bend towards Moderate, Center, and Left Media consumption over Conservative and Right.
There is more than two sides to a story, sometimes it takes both sides to draw that conclusion. Hell, one can be correct on one observation while the other is partially correct in another then taking the time to find out for ourselves rather than weaponizing it to fit an agenda can really be beneficial to all.
Interesting (but totally expected) that the MAGA echo chambers are all clustered near the bottom at 27-28% with the exception of Breitbart at 34%, still below the 36% overall US population with higher education.
And this doesn't even address the fact that a lot of MAGA doesn't get it's news from any formal media outlet. They pick up their conspiracy theory views of the world from the dark web and Reich Wing chat rooms online.
Just confirmation of and quantifying what we already knew. MAGA is the trash of this society.
All it means is the college is an indoctrination center for democrats. The Atlantic is the biggest fake news outlet there is. just because soembody's parents shelled out 100K so their little moonbat could spend 4 years majoring in Gender Studies does not mean they are intelligent. Actually it is just the opposite. I work in higher education and see first hand what a joke it has become.
Agreed my aunt's ex was university education and held a tenure position... he couldn't apparently use a microwave, toaster or a kettle
I'm trying to understand what this chart means.
College graduates and non-college graduates get 90% of their news from liberal media?
And where is YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, Facebook, Blogs and other social media on the list? That seems to be where most people get their news today.
I think it's time to stop using "college educated" as any sort of reference...
and especially to relate it with an actual education or any sort of intelligence...
Not surprised that leftist indoctrination at colleges correlates with eating liberal propaganda post grad.
