What do you think of BOGUS CONSPIRACY THEORIES?

Question

This picture has been circulating the Internet, with people claiming that this is evidence that a light weapon, possibly from aliens, caused the deadly fires in Maui, Hawaii earlier this month.

This picture is actually a time-lapse of a Space-X launch from Vandenberg AFB in California, taken in 2018, over 5 years ago.

In other words, this conspiracy theory is COMPLETELY BOGUS, propagated by those trying to make themselves look important, and possibly profit from people watching their videos.

Personally, I think that if the initiators of this BS can be found, they should be tried and jailed.

I don't think aliens or anything about them is a conspiracy. Sure, there are B movies made about them, and some are worth seeing, but it's a subject no one wants to take about unless they're making fun of anyone that believes in them. Aliens have been known to make their presence known since the 40's or sooner, and people have either been afraid to speak about what they saw, for fear of being made fun of or having others think think they're nuts. I remember listening to a podcast some years ago, where an airforce pilot was talking about what he had seen along with his buddies while flying a plane. What seemed impossible was witnessed by him, and it was seeing an object flying near them speed away in a few seconds at a speed which was too fast even for an airplane. In the podcast, he and the men with him were told by our government not to mention anything he had seen when he told his superiors about it, and he did say that when he retired he would tell what he had seen. He wasn't the first person to come forward to say what he had seen--there are so many others.

I am not one of those people who must see in order to believe something is real or exists, and I certainly am not so arrogant as to say that we, humans, are the only intelligent living creatures who inhabit this universe. How are we so sure no other creature exists besides us? Only skeptics and those who don''t like the idea of sharing this universe because of fear, would believe that only we exist.

How do I even know Hawaii even exists? I've never been or met anyone who has. Sure there's photos but they could be and people could lie about going there. I reckon Hawaii is a government conspiracy to skim off tax dollars.

Eh, people will believe the craziest stuff if it explains the "why," the issues with jailing the people are 1- there really are crazy people out there, we don't need to be jailing schizophrenics, 2- some people post in good faith, they heard or thought they heard something and it ends up being false there is no intent to defraud 3- some very crazy stories actually turn out to be true many years later when documents are declassified etc. It would suck to have imprisoned someone who was actually telling the truth, and lastly 5- how would you prove that they created it in the first place, just because they posted something the first time doesn't mean that they are responsible for it.

I think someone with a can of gasoline and fire starter is more likely than space laser, energy weapons and aliens. I guess someone with connection to govt. elites wants to buy a cheap Hawaii land close to the coast and the operation went wrong with too many "collateral" damages because the wind was too strong and everything burned too quickly and too hot.

we need our conspiracy theories. Look how many turned out to be "not conspiracy theories" afterall? Especially after covid. I don't put up with people calling anything they disagree with a "conspiracy theory". Look at the "Q-Anon shaman". The political left blatantly scrubbed video footage from the internet proving that he was given a guided tour by capitol police at the January 6th event. 2 years later, the footage gets released by the "right" and the man is set free after wrongfully being held prisoner. All the Trump-hating lefties called that a conspiracy theory until it was proven to just be a conspiracy.

I got an interesting theory from Assassins Creed 1 regarding conspiracy theories and that is that some of these conspiracy theories emerged from influential organizations intentionally and are now circulating through society.
