Should Democrats wait and see with Trump?

In two recent polls, Quinnipiac and Harvard/Harris, respectively, the Democrat party has an 18% approval rating and 40% of all respondents voted that Democrats should suspend the TDS obsessed viewpoint that everything Trump does should be repelled without exception, and 60% want to wait and see how he succeeds or fails.

What do you have to lose? If he fukks up, reward the GOP by voting Democrat. If he succeeds, think about it.

Democrats should hold the line and oppose everything that Trump does because he's Trump.

Democrats should wait and see if they benefit overall and make an intelligent decision.

And what about the irreparable damage that is done on the way? American soy bean farmers having lost 95% of their export business in China. An additional ~50.000 Americans are projected to die per year because they lost their ACA coverage. Many Ukrainian citizens losing lives and limbs because Trump doesn't deliver or even sell enough rocket defense. Small and medium sized companies going bankrupt because of screwed-up international delivery chains... this all won't end well and that was pretty clear from the beginning.

I lean conservative, but if I was a Democrat I would feel pretty confident I could get under Trumps skin enough to make a mistake. I really think Trump is a simpleton who's ego and temper get in the way of making principled decisions in the face of strong opposing views.

I may agree, but I have hope. Both in 2020 and in 2024, I got in touch with the DNC and suggested that they put up Jeh Johnson as the presidential candidate represented in the Democrat Party. Not everything is good about him, but he would give JD Vance a run for his money. He is black, moderate and intelligent.
